Mango Carrot Baby Puree - 6 Months and Older

    by Amber

This carrot baby puree is combined with mango for a nutritious and creamy puree for 6 month old babies and older. Combining carrot and mango into a baby puree is a great way to introduce carrots to your baby and get vegetables into their diet.

Carrots are an excellent source of vitamin K and vitamin A. Vitamin K is a fat-soluble nutrient required for blood clotting and healthy bones. Vitamin A is important for eye health and a healthy immune system.

Mangos are high in both vitamin A and C. These 2 nutrients are essential for optimal immune function. As mamas, we all want to have healthy babies as there is nothing more worrying than a sick baby.

I added a tsp of hemp seeds to this carrot mango puree for some plant-based protein and essential fatty acids. Hemp seeds are my favorite superfoods, so I introduced them to my girl in smoothies and this baby puree. Adding hemp seeds is optional, but regardless your baby is bound to love this carrot baby puree combined with mango.

Before making this mango carrot puree for babies, I tried making a plain carrot puree, but my baby didn’t like it. Although she loved my low histamine mango smoothie with carrot, so I thought I would try a carrot baby puree combined with mango.

The result was a naturally sweetened baby puree with both fruit and vegetable in equal amounts that my girl enjoyed!

Ingredients for the mango carrot baby puree

    • 1 cup carrots
    • 1 cup mango
    • ¼ cup water
    • 1 tsp hemp seeds

How to make a carrot puree with mango

To make this carrot puree, you will need a double boiler to steam the carrot and mango.

Start by chopping 1 cup of carrots into rounds and placing them in a double boiler’s top steamer pot with boiling water in the bottom pot. Steam the carrots for 5 minutes before adding in 1 cup of chopped mango. Continue to steam the mango and carrots together for another five minutes.

I used frozen mango chunks, but that will work just as well if you have fresh mango available.

Transfer the boiled carrots and mango into a high-speed blender. Add ¼ cup of water and 1 tsp of hemp seeds. Blend until you have a smooth and creamy consistency.

This carrot baby puree with mango had a medium to a thick consistency. If you want a thinner puree, add additional water in small amounts until you reach your desired puree consistency.

The great advantage of making homemade baby purees is you have 100% control over the ingredients and consistency. Two wins in my books.

If you are just starting your baby on solids, you can make a thinner consistency, then add less water for a thicker puree as your baby adjusts to eating.

Some additional carrot baby puree combinations that you can try using this base recipe are; try adding spices such as ginger, cinnamon, or clove. You can also add some coconut cream for additional fats or plain yogurt, which is an excellent source of protein.

When starting out, you can’t go wrong with keeping this carrot baby puree with mango simple, but with some additional tweaks, you can keep it exciting and continue to introduce more foods to your little one. This blackberry beetroot puree for babies is another great combo and way to sneak more vegetables into your babies diet!

I hope your baby enjoys this carrot mango puree as much as my girl loved it or more! Also if your baby ever struggles with constipation you have to try making these baby purees for constipation.

Mango Carrot Baby Puree for 6 Month Old Babies and Older

This mango carrot baby puree is simple, nutritious and yummy! A great way to sneak carrots into your babies diet in a way that they will love carrots is by combining carrots with mango. It only takes 15 minutes total to make this carrot puree for babies yet it will make 6 servings for your baby so you have pre-prepped baby meals that can be frozen or stored in the fridge for 3 days.
