Do not let a child take a bottle to bed or self-feed for long periods. Allowing your child to use this product for prolonged periods separate from regular mealtimes or to go to sleep while drinking liquids, other than water, from this baby bottle may cause or contribute to early childhood tooth decay. Ask your doctor for more information about proper bottle feeding. Never use feeding nipples as a soother. All nipples can wear out. To prevent possible choking hazard with any nipple, test strength by pulling on bulb portion. Inspect and discontinue use if nipple becomes sticky, enlarged, cracked, torn or shows other signs of excessive wear. Never use with carbonated beverages, as carbonation places product under pressure and may cause leakage. Bottle hood is not a toy. Please remove hood from bottle before use and keep it out of reach of children. Do not boil liquids in microwave. Burns and scalding may result if nurser is overheated. Always test temperature of liquid before feeding baby. Always use this product with adult supervision. Please retain these instructions for future reference.

What is Bisphenol?

Polycarbonate is used in thousands of products around the world and has been the most widely used material in baby bottles for many years. There has been a lot of scientific research done and although we know that the levels of BPA in plastic polycarbonate bottles are below harmful levels, we have decided to eliminate BPA from all newborn products in order to avoid any risk or doubt and offer parents safe products. Do Nuby™ products contain hazardous materials?

Luv n' care® sets out a commitment for its manufacturers/suppliers to only use plastics, color pigments and paints that do not contain BPA, phthalates, PVC or other suspected harmful chemicals in the manufacture of Nuby™. In addition, our products comply with all government standards, including FDA, CPSC, CPSIA and European standards/regulations.

Why do some Nuby™ spoons and bottles change color?

Color change is due to naturally occurring natural dyes such as carotene. This dye can be found in carrots, tomatoes, pumpkins, and many other fruits and vegetables. Despite the noticeable color change, it is not harmful and has no taste or smell. Nuby™ Spoons are made to be safe and comfortable for your baby. The soft tip and heat sensitivity feature in spoons is only possible if certain materials are used that react with natural dyes. It is possible to produce spoons from other materials that do not change color, but they will not be able to perform the same functions, therefore, they will not be as comfortable or safe for your child. To avoid discoloration of the bottles, wash them gently with warm water and a mild detergent before sterilizing. It's also a good idea not to wash them in the dishwasher.

How long can I use the silicone spout/straw?

Nuby™ Straws have the same features as the Nuby™ silicone spouts and nipples. Frequently used spouts/straws wear out over time. We recommend changing them regularly. Nuby™ always uses the safest and most durable silicone, however, products should be checked before each use and, if necessary, replaced immediately if you find any signs of wear! Be aware that babies who have already erupted their first teeth may damage the nipple/spout faster than others because the first teeth are usually very sharp. Spouts and straws can be replaced so your child can continue to use their favorite cups. Nuby™ uses only the safest and most durable silicone, however it is very important to use the correct spouts/straws for the child's age.

Can I buy separate parts for my Nuby™ breast pump?

Unfortunately, at the moment we do not sell any separate parts for the breast pump. If you have any problems and cannot use your Nûby™ Natural Touch™ breast pump, send us a photo of the damaged part and we will do our best to help you.

Can I boil gel teethers or sterilize them?

NO! The special gel in teethers contains water, which expands and turns into steam at the right temperature. Which in turn can lead to cracks in the teether. To clean, simply wash the teether in warm soapy water and dry well.

Why is my silicone bottle leaking?

Our Step 1 SoftFlex™ Silicone Nursers are made from 100% BPA-free medical grade silicone. Since silicone is soft and compresses easily, it's important to make sure the bottle is assembled correctly. To secure the nipple, insert the nipple into the twist ring and pull until the nipple locks into place. To assemble the base, it is necessary that the silicone bottle is fixed in the openings of the ring. Thus, the edges of the silicone bottle should cover the edges of the plastic screw ring. When the nipple and bottle base are ready, gently twist them together. Be careful not to twist too hard. Over-tightening can cause the silicone base to skew.

What is the difference between a teat, a spout and a straw?

As your child develops, their needs change. That's why we've developed a wide range of products that change with your child. From birth, the baby uses the pacifier because the pacifier requires the least amount of sucking effort. When they are strong enough to make enough sucking movements (usually around 6 months old) your baby can begin to drink from the spout. When babies get used to drinking from the spout, they are ready for the straw (usually between 9and 12 months, depending on the type of tubing). Considering that most of our nipples, spouts and straws are made from the same soft and durable silicone, your little one will find something similar to the previous one in each new stage. This familiarity makes the transition much easier. Please note that the age recommendation you see on the packaging and on our website is only a guess. Each child develops at their own pace. If your child doesn't seem ready to transition yet, that's fine. Encourage him, but don't force him.

How do anti-colic valves work?

All Nuby™ anti-colic teats and anti-colic bottles have tiny valves. When your child eats, the valves open and close as needed. This helps prevent a vacuum inside the bottle, which in turn makes it easier for the baby to feed and reduces the risk of intestinal colic in babies.

Can I boil the thermo cup?

No - please do not sterilize or boil the thermos. The thermos have double walls. The air between the walls is compressed at very high temperatures, which can lead to deformation of the cup. When the bowl has cooled down, it will no longer be able to return to its original shape.

Why can I boil/sterilize some bottles and not others?

The types of materials used vary. Some materials can be sterilized in boiling water or steam, while others only need to be sterilized prior to first use. Please read the instructions before sterilizing your bottle.

What is the difference between water teethers, gel teethers and regular teethers?

Standard teether does not contain thermal gel or water. With water teethers, as a rule, only part of the teether is filled with water. Such a teether can be placed in the refrigerator for cooling. Thermal gel teethers usually have a portion of the teether filled with pûrice™ gel. These teethers can also be placed in the refrigerator to cool. Generally, gel teethers stay cool longer than traditional water-filled teethers.

How does a Dual-flo™ valve work?

Dual-Flo™ valve has two different flow rates: fast and slow. Each stream is marked with its own symbol. The turtle symbol represents the slow flow, while the rabbit symbol represents the fast flow. When the valve is securely in position, the symbol indicates active flow.

How long does it take to boil/sterilize baby bottles?

Although each child matures differently, sterilization is recommended during the first 6 months. After six months, your baby's immune system should be strong enough to help fight infections. However, because milk breeds bacteria very quickly, we recommend sterilizing bottles during the first 12 months of breastfeeding. Please read the instructions before sterilizing your bottles.

Can I cool my thermo gel teether by placing it in the freezer?

NO! For the safety of baby's delicate gums, the only place to cool the teether is in a normal refrigerator.
