The fit was too big and very boxy. This would be good for heavier kids. I should also note that this tshirt has an orange tinge to the yellow. I got the medium, 10 to 12, which works well in brands like Tea, Boden, and Gap, and for a thin 8 year old, he was just swimming in it width wise. Otherwise, this is a nice solid weight, 100 percent cotton shirt. The picture is printed, not vinyl.

Children's menu: the dangers of junk food
Civilization brings many useful discoveries, including in cooking. But at the same time, there are many substitute products, improvers, acidifiers, sweeteners, dyes and other harmful “chemistry” that are added to food. Most often, such, frankly, poisonous food is chosen by children. They just like the taste, smell and bright packaging. What exactly is impossible for children, and how to teach them to eat right?
Mariyat Mukhina
nutritionist, doctor of medical sciences
The task of adults is not only to explain to the child what to eat, but what is better to stay away from. It is important to form proper eating habits in him.
How to teach children to eat healthy, the expert tells Roskachestvo and aif.ru
This should be excluded from the children's menu
Chips. Daily chips easily add 3-4 kilograms of weight to a child in a year. But the problem here is not only in the fat mass. The composition of additives that are used in the preparation of potato or corn chips, in combination with carcinogens leads to metabolic failure. This, in turn, adversely affects the development of internal organs.
Soda. A lot has been written about carbonated drinks, but neither the abundance of sugar in them, nor the list of chemical compounds on the label stop children. However, so do parents. But if a reasonable adult at least once thoughtfully read the composition of a carbonated drink, his love for this blessing of civilization will noticeably decrease in him. Obesity is the most harmless thing that regular consumption of soda leads to. The consequences are horrendous: from diseases of the digestive system to diabetes and even cancer. Meanwhile, sweet drinks do not quench your thirst, after half an hour you want to drink again.
Sausages and sausages. Their modern children love more than vegetables and fruits. But the children here, in general, are not to blame. This is fast food, we buy it ourselves so as not to stand at the stove. It turns out saving time in exchange for the health of the child. There are no sausages without harmful substances and an abundance of fat! Unless it's a farm or homemade product. In ordinary sausages, for the most part, there are starch, emulsions, flavoring additives, a nitrite-curing mixture and many other substances that negatively affect the formation of a child's body.
Roskachestvo reminds that if you want to feed your child with sausages, pay attention to products with a Quality Mark - for example, according to the standard of the Russian Quality System, Dairy sausages claiming a Quality Mark should not contain starch, preservatives (benzoic and sorbic acids) and dyes: E102, E110, E124, E131, E132.
Fast food. How many times has it been told to the world that hamburgers, french fries, fried pies, belyashi and donuts do not benefit anyone except their manufacturers and sellers! Carcinogens, a huge amount of fat, incongruous foods, an insane amount of calories for one lunch - that's what fast food is.
Chocolate bars with "nougat, caramel and coconut". Unfortunately, their composition is noticeably different from the advertising one in favor of the abundance of "chemistry" and fat. They have a huge amount of calories, going mainly to fat on the sides and hips. By the way, they satisfy hunger for a short time, they will not be able to eat.
Store-bought sauces and mayonnaises . Here the problem is in the abundance of flavoring additives, in a large amount of fat and, most unpleasantly, in vinegar. When stored in plastic packaging, it provokes the release of dangerous carcinogens from the container into the sauce. With constant use, carcinogens accumulate in the child's body, leading to various diseases.
Crab sticks and shrimp. They are not as harmless as we used to think. The former are made from cheap varieties of fish - unfortunately, not always of good quality. They have quite a lot of starch. At the same time, flavors and dyes are added to the crab sticks for a presentation and smell. And shrimp are often grown in special water with antibiotics.
Cakes, cakes and buns are, of course, possible. But very carefully. The cheaper the product, the more flavors and dyes it contains. Plus a huge amount of fat and sugar in any pastry, leading to metabolic disorders and acid-base balance, and as a result - to obesity.
Jelly marmalade, bright lollipops, "rubber" marshmallow and other newfangled sweets with sugar consist of thickeners, sweeteners, flavors, fillers, stabilizers and emulsifiers. I hope your appetite has already disappeared and from now on you will go around the counters with such goods for half a verst.

In no case should sweets be offered to children as a reward for eating lunch. Otherwise, sweetness becomes more attractive, and dinner becomes hateful.
How to teach a child to eat healthy food?
First of all, by example. If they don’t eat junk food in the house, then the child, of course, occasionally wants to try it - there’s nowhere to go from advertising and offers from friends. But every day he will want what he got used to from an early age. Scientists say that even during pregnancy and breastfeeding, mother's cravings for certain foods are passed on to the child. It is important to prepare the right snacks in advance so that children between main meals do not grab cookies or candy from the table, but fruit or granulated bran. Delicious and healthy at the same time.
If there is soda or sweet store-bought juice in the refrigerator, you can give a 100% guarantee that the child will drink them first of all, and not vital clean water. Therefore, the water filter should be in the most visible place so that it constantly catches the eye.
Watch what your child eats and praise the right choice. Focus on those products, the consumption of which leads to health, beauty and excellent sports achievements - depending on what the child is passionate about.
Most unhealthy foods can be found with healthy substitutes.
Potato and corn chips are replaced with dried fruit slices.
Instead of candy, you can eat dried fruits and dried berries. It is important not to confuse with candied fruits, in which there is no less sugar than in candies.
Establishing regular meals reduces the number of snacks, which means it allows you to better control what children eat. If breakfasts, lunches and dinners are held at a common table with adults, the opportunities to intercept a couple of spoons of jam instead of soup are significantly reduced.
Let the kids participate in the menu design so they become more interested in the outcome. It is always nice to get exactly what you ordered, what you like for dinner. You should not force your child to eat unloved foods, no matter how useful they may be. You can always find an equally useful replacement.
And pay attention to the fact that healthy products are of high quality. For example, cottage cheese.
While eating, it is important to maintain a pleasant atmosphere. It is better to postpone the showdown and "debriefing" for another time. TVs and tablets should also be turned off. When a person is busy watching a cartoon or TV show, his brain does not think about food, which adversely affects digestion and leads to obesity.
Reference:
By the way, the correct process of eating can be learned from kids. They eat only when they are hungry, chewing food thoroughly, giving it all their attention. And they stop eating as soon as they are full. At the same time, children under three years old cannot be forced to eat foods that they do not like. And they choose, as a rule, exactly those that are currently needed by the body.

Why is it not necessary to divide food into harmful and useful?
In this article, we'll cover what you need to know when teaching kids about healthy eating habits and one big nutritional mistake that often backfires.
As a mom of three boys who are getting older every day, I'm on a constant quest to instill healthy eating habits in them so that when they grow up, they don't pounce on tons of sweets, but make informed decisions about food and health. It is not simple.
Children's world is filled with snacks at school, junk food from well-meaning grandmothers, and ads on TV and in stores urging you to buy something completely unhealthy with a bunch of artificial ingredients. At the grocery store, we try to avoid the "not-so-healthy" shelves, but I'm not going to switch them forever. They must learn to navigate the world of products themselves. I want my children to think, grow up and respect their bodies so they can make wise choices about the food they eat.
Many parents, especially parents of picky eaters, often try to force feed their children, thinking that they are not getting the vitamins and nutrients they need to live and learn. This is a huge mistake and we will also talk about it.
What not to do?
Maybe it's the professional therapist talking in me, but nutrition is important to me personally. I try to eat well and eat foods that I know are good for my body. But at the same time, with children, I avoid the wording “healthy foods”.
This is because I know people run into a lot of problems when they start labeling foods as "healthy" and "unhealthy." Children are bombarded with unhealthy food all the time, and unless you live in a remote, isolated community, the attack is simply unavoidable. Your children will see other people eating these foods. They themselves will try them somewhere, they may like them and they will want them even more. Therefore, when we call these foods bad, unhealthy or junk, we unconsciously make the child think about himself as well (I ate this, so I am like that too).
Right way
Teaching kids about proper nutrition without causing the opposite effect is possible! We need to step back and think about how we will teach them so that they don't feel bad if they happen to try unhealthy food and, as it happens, enjoy it, not guilt. How to do it? Follow the steps below to teach children good eating habits.
Learn on time
Often, when we start teaching children about nutrition, when the children ate only bread and sweets all day. We worry and feel cornered in trying to control what they eat. Believe me, this is not the right time for moralizing. Before you start talking about nutrition, ask yourself, "Am I saying this to try and control what they're eating right now?" If the answer is "yes", don't.
Do not divide foods into healthy and unhealthy
We've talked about this before, but as a reminder, let's be neutral in our product reviews.
Do not ban products
Although it horrified me, there were products that I bought a couple of times because my kids really wanted them. I don't force them to earn these products or impose any restrictions on them, like: "We can only buy Kinder once a month." I try not to blackmail or focus on the product, and when the kids ask for a "ban" in the store, I say that it is not on the list of products to buy. Similarly, I do not prohibit eating junk food at parties or with friends.
Focus on education, not teaching
Instead of focusing on healthy eating, consider really teaching your child about food, food categories, nutritional values, as if you were teaching them the colors of the rainbow or the types of mammals. This means cultivating an attitude towards food without any prejudice and perhaps talking about different ways of cooking it. For a young child, this learning may be limited to describing the color, smell, or texture of food. For older kids, you can say something like, “That's steak. It is very similar to the hamburger you like. The hamburger patty is also made of meat. The steak and hamburger is beef, it has a lot of protein. Protein gives us energy and helps us to be stronger.”
When you teach your child, encourage open discussion and dialogue. Ask questions such as: “What food are you currently eating?” or “Did you know that the fish we eat is called salmon? It’s kind of a super fish because it contains special vitamins (omega-3s) that help our brains grow.”
Look for the good in every product
As in the example above, one of the first ways I begin to teach children the principles of nutrition is by telling them about the benefits of the food we eat. I use the word vitamin as a blanket, especially for younger children. I even talk about how dessert tastes good and can be very enjoyable. It's important to talk about the benefits.
Explain the difference between protein, vegetables and carbohydrates
Talk about how most products fit into one of these categories, and how each has its own benefits. I also emphasize that when we eat some of these foods, the body feels better. Kids in middle school and older can handle more details, but for most kids, this is a great start. In addition to these 7 Eating Teaching Tips, you can also teach them the importance of sitting down to eat and that snacking can ruin their appetite.
Remember that you are your child's best teacher, even without saying a word, because he learns by watching you. Eat and cook only the foods you want them to eat, that's the whole secret. Finally, consider teaching your child to eat mindfully, focusing on the sensations of eating, rather than the need for you to fill up quickly. The goal is to create a lifestyle around healthy eating!
When is the right time to teach children the science of nutrition?
Now that you have the tools to teach your child how to eat, you're probably wondering when is the best time to teach.
First naturally when you eat. But for picky eaters, meal times can be extremely stressful, and anything you try to teach them can feel like trying to coax them into eating something.
Second while you cook food together. Cooking with your kids is great for many reasons, and if you want to talk about nutrition, this is the perfect time.
Third , if none of the above options work for your child, consider another time of day, away from food, when you are likely to get their attention. Maybe while you are driving or when you are reading a book at night. You can start the conversation like this: “You know what I wanted to ask, did you know that most foods fall into three groups?” Toddlers need to go the other way.
