So I said I wouldn't do it. There was no way I was going to puree meat for my baby. I just didn't think I was going to be able to handle it. Just the thought of it was totally gross. However, J isn't a huge fan of meat purees and I have no idea how they get them that smooth so in an effort to get him to eat more meat I decided to make my own chicken puree.
I knew I needed some vegetables in with the chicken as well as a liquid and possibly something else in order to make it work. Since I was going with the meat I figured I might as well make it a whole meal in one. So my very first meat puree ended up being Chicken, Rice, and Carrot Puree.
I steamed the carrots on the stove and while that was going on I blended cooked chicken along with some chicken broth. Then I added in the steamed carrots and baby rice. You can totally go with regular cooked rice but since I happen to have a container of baby rice I simply poured that into the blender. Then I seasoned it with sage and pureed it.
J did not like the texture of it at first. It was pretty thick and lumpy. I ended up adding in additional chicken broth and some applesauce to help with thinning it out. After doing that he was a total fan.
I like that I can simply give him several ounces of this puree and he gets meat, vegetables, grains, and fruit all in one serving. The only thing he is missing is dairy and he gets that in his yogurt! While I don't think I'll puree any other types of meat the chicken wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be and it was worth it since he seems to enjoy it.

- ½ c. cooked chicken, cut into small pieces
- ¾ c. chicken broth
- ⅓ c. rice
- 2 peeled and steamed carrots, cut into pieces
- ¼ c. applesauce
- 1 t. rosemary or sage
- Place the chicken and chicken broth in the Baby Bullet or other blender and blend until smooth.
- Add in the rice, carrots, applesauce, and either rosemary or sage. Blend until desired consistency is reached. Add more liquid if needed.
- Eat within 3 days or freeze in 2 ounce portions and eat within 2 months.

Preparing the ingredients. Peel onions, garlic and carrots. My tomatoes and chicken fillet.

In a classic risotto, the rice has to be fried in a pan with oil and wine. But I cook for children and try to have as little fat as possible in the dish, and even more so alcohol. nine0003
Therefore, put a saucepan on maximum heat, put cereal in it, fill it with water, after boiling, reduce the heat to medium and cook for 15 minutes until half cooked.
