I organised several games and activities for my sister’s Pink Flavoured Baby Shower and they were a whole lot more successful than I had anticipated! Everyone really got into the spirit of things and they were great fun, as well as bringing all the guests who didn’t know each other together.

The first game I’m going to tell you about is ‘Guess The Baby Food’. And if you’re thinking, “OMG, do we have to eat baby food?!” Let me tell you yes, yes you do!

It was a fun game…even if a little on the gross side – do we really feed babies this jarred stuff? Blech! Everyone joined in, except for me, because, you know. Answers… >_>

It’s easy enough to set up – you just need a little preparation! I bought 6 jars of baby food – 3 savoury and 3 sweet. You could have more or less if you like, but it felt like a good amount. It’s best to try and get varying flavours if you can.

To keep the jars a mystery you will need to take off the labels. I created some custom labels to stick on, but you could just as easily use sticky labels that you write numbers (or letters on) and keep tally of what is what on a hidden sheet of paper.

What I did, was put each label into a corresponding envelope to reveal when everyone had made their choices.

I also made a sign to sit next to the game, along with answer sheets. But you can be as creative (or non-creative!) as you like!

I also provided lots of plastic teaspoons so as not to double dip! Initially, the weather was looking a little suspect on the morning of the baby shower, so I set everything up inside, eventually, as the sun came out to play, we all moved outside, including the games!

When game time came around, I removed the jar lids, and gave out some paper plates for people to scoop food onto to taste from. It was quite amusing to watch people’s reactions to the taste of the food and to hear their guessing of what each jar was!

I think you only have to look through the reaction photos to know how this one worked out!! It was hilarious, and if you’re holding a baby shower for someone, I encourage you to give this game a try!

You will have to excuse the minging-ness of my garden in the outside photos – it really needs ‘doing’!

During the event, emphasis was placed on the uniqueness of military newsreels and the importance of the cameraman profession. Excerpts from feature films and documentaries "Stalingrad" created in 1942-1943 were viewed. For almost half a year, a small group of cameramen led by A. Kuznetsov filmed the development of the Battle of Stalingrad. They shot about 35 thousand meters of film, over 100 combat stories about the life of the heroic city. In addition to the rarest filming by Soviet front-line cameramen, materials from captured German newsreels were used. In this film, the Katyusha volleys were filmed for the first time. On December 24, 2019, in the MKOU secondary school No. 1 in Dubovka, in the 1st grade, a holiday “Journey to the Fairy Forest” was held.

With these lines, an extracurricular event dedicated to the celebration of the 350th anniversary of the birth of Peter I began at the Dubovsky Pedagogical College. In 2022, the country will celebrate a date that is significant for the entire Russian people.

The theatrical performance expanded the format of the event. The personality of Peter was not limited to dry historical facts. The theatrical scenes played out by the students depicted Peter's reforms, education in Russia, and military affairs to the audience. And everything is like in a real theater: scenery, costumes, makeup and vivid emotions of the characters.

The event featured the verse "Russia is the Holy Motherland" read by Lubov Druzhinina, the song "Russia is you" performed by Anastasia Boksan, Anastasia Ozerina, Valeria Ignatieva. Tsepeleva Daria solemnly delivered the preamble to the Constitution of the Russian Federation.

Within the walls of the Dubovsky Pedagogical College there was an exciting game "Intellect-Battle", organized by Zaitseva N.V., a teacher of computer science.

First and second year students competed for the title of “the most erudite team”.

The participants of the intellectual battles had to answer the questions of 4 rounds:

Creative representation of teams. Poems, songs and ditties were sounded, indicating the importance of such a discipline as COMPUTER SCIENCE. Also, students in this competition showed impromptu skits that made everyone smile.

"Guess the proverb", where it was necessary to remember how the proverbs sound in the original, and not in the program language.

Throughout the intellectual battle, the teams successfully answered the questions asked.

According to the results of the intellectual battle, the teams became the most erudite:

The results of the event completely satisfied everyone. During the game, everyone treated each other kindly and with understanding. After the event, the students were left with good impressions, which was evidence of their desire to continue participating in such events in the future.

In my opinion, the event was successful, the students realized themselves, demonstrated their knowledge, their ingenuity and resourcefulness and were duly appreciated and awarded.
