Life Savor! When my 3 year old was teething, we had multiple of these. Kept them in the diaper bag, at close families houses and all around our home. They are so easy to use and made teething a breeze. I would absolutely recommend. My sons favorite thing in them were frozen bananas! And we will be getting many more for our second son as soon as he begins teething.

Brilliant These are fantastic for your little teethers. Freeze fruit or waffles and stick them inside and the mesh keeps the contents inside so you won't have to worry about your little one choking and the cover helps keep the chewing area sanitary.

Not THe Best IMO I like this item, but I've learned not to put anything mushy in it like bananas. It's great for harder foods like carrots and cucumbers. The mushy fruits get stuck in there and it's difficult to wash. Not my favorite baby product, but it's not bad. I'd save money and go for something else.

Amazing This is a great invention. My daughter is able to eat her fruits without me having to peel and chop. :) So she's getting all the nutirients. And she simply loves it. I tried introducing grapes a month ago and it was a horrible experience. Then I ordered the teething feeder... and bingo, grapes were an instant hit! The best thing about this particular feeder (because I did try a couple before this one) is that it has a cover. Plus the base is chillable i.e. you can put it in the fridge and it keeps the fruits inside it cool for a little longer when you're out. So now my baby girl can eat her fruits even when we're out. :) In response to a review indicating that they're hard to clean... well, the solution is to wash them straight away. And if that's not possible, make sure to drop the whole thing in a glass of water so whatever fruit or veggie you had in there doesn't get hard.

Messy I liked the idea behind this product. We bought it for my 21 month old as a teether. We put a frozen strawberry in it and it made a horrible mess. Sure, we expected a little bit of a mess from the mesh bag, but not that big of one within a few minutes. I expected it to contain solid foods better. It was also pretty hard to wash and stained the mesh bag immediately. My daughter did enjoy the other side of it, with the ridges to chew on.

When introducing new foods to my daughter this came in handy. No worries for choking, and she got experience new flavors. Downside was the clean up, the mesh was just really had to get as clean as I would like it to be. It felt like forever trying to get little pieces of strawberries out. Great product in theory, not so much in practical use.

Fresh fruit. .controlled Every one of my kids LOVED these. Id add cuts of fresh fruit to it for all of them. Less mess and no choking hassards. After 3 kids using these... I began using these as a teether for my daughter.. Id add ice cubes to them and shed loveeee them outdoors in the summer. Shed cool down and itd also relieve her teething pains with the cold cubes. I have a 4 month old and ive already bought one for her for when shes ready! HIGHLY RECCOMEND!

Helpful, but hard to clean. Not my favorite teething products! It is good for when you are introducing finger foods. You can put items in there like steamed carrots or string beans so the kids can suck on them and get the flavor but not have to worry about the pulp. The only negative about this product, is the mesh is super hard to clean! I much prefer silicone teethers that you can wash very easily and even throw in the dishwasher.

Hard to clean My kids had one similar to this a few years ago. They are a pain to clean. There was banana and things still stuck in it even after it went through the dishwasher. These are good for getting babies use to eating solid foods, though.

Bacteria breeding ground Great idea but bad execution, it is hard to clean the mesh and around it. I used it once and then decided I didn't want to give it another try because I felt that it still had food trapped in the mesh part.

no good So its a great idea and good way for little one to be able to suck on a good that normally maybe she couldn't eat...However omg how terrible to clean its never clean the mesh holds on to the smallest bits of food that unless you have a tiny brush and clean inside every single hole its never safe to give your child again without old food in it...YUCK

Ultimate Guide to Baby Feeders: Mesh and Silicone

You may have seen baby feeders, whether mesh or silicone, and wondered what they are for. They are a great tool for feeding babies and toddlers—and are especially awesome for teething relief. There are many on the market though, so today I’m sharing the best of the best.

Baby Feeder

A baby feeder is made up of an easy-hold handle and a little pouch with lots of holes. The idea is that the holes allow some of the flavor and texture of the food to come out, without the concerns that may come with larger pieces of food.

This means you can worry less when it comes to choking risks.

One thing to keep in mind: They don’t allow babies to have the full texture experience of the food—since the texture is mostly the mesh of the feeder. That means you don’t want to use one of these for every meal (or even most meals).

Lots of exposures to lots of textures helps babies and toddlers gain confidence in handling all sorts of foods, which can make feeding kids a lot easier over the long run.

But an infant feeder can be a handy tool to have in the mix, especially if on the go, starting to transition to baby food, or trying out a new food that has you a little nervous.

And they are a great way to offer cold teething relief to soothe baby’s gums.

Baby Fruit Feeder

Many people like to use baby feeders to offer fruit, either fresh or frozen, since the product is a safe way for baby to suck on and explore the flavor of a wide range of fruit.

TIP: Another name for this is Baby Fruit Pacifier.

Best Baby Food Feeders

Below are my top picks for infant feeders chosen for ease of use, durability, and ease of care (as in washing!). There are different materials listed, as well as specific information on each product.

Best Mesh Feeder

Munchkin Baby Feeder, sold in a set of two. (Or choose the ones that come with travel caps.)

This baby feeder has a streamlined, simple design of a mesh bag for the food and a ring for baby to hold onto. Small, digestible pieces of food come through so baby is getting some nourishment (and comfort if using for teething) without the risk of choking. It’s about $7 for two of them.

Best Silicone Feeder

Boon Silicone Feeder

This baby feeder, which is priced at under $6, is made from durable silicone and can be used with fresh or frozen foods. The interior stem forces food toward the tiny holes in the feeder and the small handle is sized just right for baby’s little hands.

Kidsme Baby Feeder

Baby Feeder Pacifier Combo

Kidsme Food Feeder

This popular Kidsme feeder has a replaceable silicone pouch that comes in two sizes, so you can adjust and replace as your child grows. It has a unique handle style that some babies may prefer and can be used as a pacifier too. It’s usually priced around $15 and is recommended for ages 4-24 months.

What baby foods should I put into a baby feeder?

Here are some fruits that are good to serve in a baby feeder:

  • Raspberries, fresh or frozen
  • Strawberries, fresh or frozen
  • Blackberries, fresh or frozen
  • Cantaloupe
  • Honeydew
  • Banana
  • Mango, fresh or frozen
  • Roasted sweet potato
  • Roasted butternut squash
  • Ripe fresh pear
  • Fresh cucumber, skin removed
  • Watermelon
  • Cooked red meat such as steak
  • Frozen grapes (These are NOT safe served to a child this age in any other way as they are a choking risk. They are fine served inside the feeder, though.)

TIP: You can use frozen fruit or ripe fresh fruit that’s soft and easy to gum. Avoid any fruits or veggies that are very hard as baby may be frustrated by that texture.

Frequently Asked Questions

What age can baby use a mesh feeder?

Babies can use an infant feeder soon after starting solids around 6 months, or when they can easily hold it and bring it to their mouth.

How do I use a baby feeder to help with teething?

If you fill the feeder, whether mesh or silicone, with frozen fruit, you can soothe teething in infants who are eating solids or in toddlers. It’s cold and yummy, yet requires no real work for the child to suck on, so it’s comforting.

Are all of these baby feeders BPA-free?

Yes, if you choose a mesh baby feeder or one made from silicone, they are BPA-free.

What’s the best way to clean a baby feeder?

Try using a bottle brush or just running water to clean out the mesh. It should be fairly easy to clean if you avoid letting it sit too long with food in it!

Are baby feeders good for babies?

The one downside could be that if you rely on them too much, the child learns the texture of the feeder, rather than of the food. This can make it harder for a child to learn to move actual food around in their mouths and harder for them to accept a range of textures in the future when you don’t want to be using the mesh feeder as much.

Because of that, I recommend using this product at limited times such as when on the go at a restaurant or to help sooth a teething infant, baby, or toddler.

This is not recommended as a way to feed your child at every meal.

If you are worried about choking, review this information on toddler choking and trust that if you serve foods that are easy to squish between your fingers, baby is sitting down at meals, and you are with them, they will learn to eat like so many other kids who have gone before them!

"Small little birds are chilled,0022

and Blizzard with a roar frantic Knights Svetnoy
9000

Remember these lines from Yesenin's poem? In winter, birds have a hard time. Lack of food becomes a problem. Food is needed in order for the body to produce heat. Ornithologists have calculated that in frosts 90 percent of birds die from lack of calories. The task of a person is to come to the aid of birds. One feeder , hung behind a window or on a tree, provides food for several hundred birds.

Why do we need feeders?

1. This is to help flying friends get the food they need for life.

2. Making or attaching feeders together is an excuse to spend time with your family. nine0005

3. Children will be happy to follow the replenishment of food . This will teach a responsible attitude towards our smaller brothers.

4. Knowing that there is a feeder on your site, the birds will fly in in the summer and protect the trees from insects

5. Feeders can become a beautiful element of decor in the garden.

6. For pecking feed Birds are interesting to watch for both children and adults.

When we were kids, we made bird feeders out of milk cartons. Today, it can be made from a variety of materials or you can choose a ready-made version that will decorate your backyard or apartment window.

Possible materials are wood, metal, cardboard, plastic, plywood.

Basic types feeders :

1. Suspended. Such models are hung on a tree branch. They have an elongated shape and mesh sides, from which it is convenient for birds to get food . It is desirable that feeder be wide enough to accommodate several birds.

2. Platforms . They are a flat plane on which feed . Such feeders have a number of disadvantages - the grains get wet in the snow and rain, scatter from the wind.

3. Trays. Pallets with sides and a roof are not only a place to eat, but also protection from the weather.

Feeders-trays and trays are large, so a dozen birds can eat on them at once. nine0004

4. Peelers. Designed for small birds. In such feeders it is better to put bread, which will be held by a metal mesh. Birds will peck out food from the cells.

5. Hoppers. They are small in size, so feathered friends will have to queue up to peck at the grain. There are models with automatic grain feeding, which is practical, since the feed will not scatter. nine0027

6. Cottages. A suitable option for a summer cottage. These are flat areas with a roof, so the bird's meal will not be spoiled by moisture.

Selection and installation guide

1. Decide where feeder will be installed. Small options are suitable for the apartment window - peelers, bunkers, hanging ones. Large ones will look good on the plot - houses, trays, platforms. nine0027

2. Locate the "refectory" in a place where food will not get wet from snow or rain. If this is not possible, consider options with a roof.

3. Birds can be easy prey for cats and small predators. Feeder must be installed so that the animals cannot reach it.

4. The product must be well reinforced. You can screw it to a tree, but there is a chance of damaging the trunk. Much more efficient to attach feeder to a free-standing pole, which must be well dug into the ground.

5. If you are going to install a feeder in the forest, but do not have the opportunity to add feed daily, choose models with automatic grain feeding.

Things to remember

1. Birds find food thanks to their sharp eyesight. Feeder must be bright. Another way to attract attention is to hang a bright ribbon on it. nine0027

2. When making a "dining room" on your own, give preference to safe materials. Staining is permissible only on the outside - lacquer or paint contains toxic substances.

3. It is more difficult for large birds to find food than for small ones. Sparrows love to swoop down on food in a flock and quickly peck everything. If you do not have time to constantly replenish feeder , choose smaller models, such as hoppers. Only one bird can eat at a time. nine0005

Which food

can be used

It is recommended to feed the birds with grains and some types of natural food.

Can:

  • wheat, millet, oats;
  • frozen or dried berries;
  • bread crumbs;
  • fat - for tits;
  • pumpkin and watermelon seeds;
  • sunflower seeds. nine0008

Not recommended:

  • moldy bread;
  • rice, buckwheat;
  • chips;
  • fruit and vegetable peel;
  • certain types of nuts;
  • fried and smoked natural food.

If you are afraid of making a mistake with the choice of ingredients, you can purchase ready-made bird food . A mixture of grains, dried vegetables and fruits contains all the necessary nutrients that will saturate the body of birds. nine0004

Useful conclusions

  • in winter it is difficult for birds to get food without human help;
  • feeder you can make yourself or choose a ready-made option;
  • "dining room" for winged birds must be protected from predators, snow and rain;
  • Not every kind of food is good for birds. Opt for prepared foods containing grains, fruits, vegetables and nuts. nine0008

Lesson progress.

I. Organizational moment.

- Hello, guys! Please read the motto of our technology lesson:

Mind and heart in Put in the work, cherish every second of your work!”

- How do you understand these lines?

- Today we have a very interesting job ahead of us, and I hope that we will let's work for glory!

II . Update knowledge.

- Guys, today we have a lesson ornithologists came.

- Who knows what people do this noble profession? nine0005

Ornithology is the branch of zoology that studies everything related to birds that is, their behavior, structure, region of residence depending on the species and organize work dedicated to the protection of those species that are currently under threat. Ornithologist - is a person who is engaged in ornithology, that is, a specialist in birds. I tried this profession even Russian President Vladimir Putin himself - in 2012 he flew together with the West Siberian Cranes, in order to teach the Red Book Cranes correctly fly. nine0447

- So, our bird experts will tell us riddles about wintering in our land of birds who need our help with you. And we have to guess them.

1st ornithologist:

Black-winged, red-breasted,

And in winter he will find shelter

He is not afraid of a cold -

With the first snow right there! (Bullfinch)

2nd ornithologist:

There is a strange doctor in the world,

He heals trees, children.

- Where does it hurt? Knock Knock!

Ah, found it. Knock Knock. (Woodpecker)

3rd ornithologist:

Greenish on the back,

Yellowish on the tummy,

Black cap

. And a striped scarf. (Tit)

4th ornithologist:

Little bird

Has legs

But he can't walk.

Wants to take a step

- It turns out to be a jump. (Sparrow)

5th ornithologist:

A very strange postman:

He is neither a magician nor a magician.

Delivers letters and newspapers,

Carries a parcel to the ends of the world,

Keeps all secrets.

He is winged and bold and vigilant.

Who is this postman? (Dove)

6th ornithologist:

Flies all night -

Gets mice.

And it will become light -

Sleep flies into a hollow. (Owl)

7th ornithologist:

Fidget motley,

Long-tailed bird,

This predator is talkative,

thieving, fussy. (Magpie)

- What other wintering birds can you name?

(partridges, magpies, sparrows, capercaillie, nutcrackers, siskins, crows, nuthatches,

owls, falcons, etc.) Statement of the topic and purpose of the lesson. nine0004

- Listen carefully to the passage and prepare to answer Question: Why did the birds mourn?

Dashed in forest cold february. Birds and animals were saddened: how to continue to live?

Ferret says:

- Save yourself who can!

A Magpie chirp:

- Everyone again for himself? No to work together against a common misfortune! Then the Hare got involved:

Correct Magpie chirps. I propose to create a Bureau of Forest Services. I help partridges can. I break the snow on winters every day to the ground, let them be there after me seeds and greens are pecking - I do not mind. Write me, Magpie, to the Bureau under the number first!

- Yes smart head in our forest! Magpie rejoiced. - Who is next?

– We are next! cried the crossbills.

– We are the bumps on peel the trees, drop half of the cones whole down. Use, voles and mice, no pity! nine0022

- Who next?

- Sign us up, grumbled the beavers from their hut. - We piled so many aspens in the fall - for all enough.

-So why are the birds upset? (FROM with the onset of frost, it became difficult for birds to get food.)

- They suffer not so much from frosts, how much from the lack of food, which is needed to satisfy hunger and, most importantly, way to generate heat. Hoping to find provisions, they move closer to man

- And you and I can make an appointment at Bureau forest services , which created a magpie? How can we help the wintering birds? (Make feeders and feed them in winter.)

- Yes, guys, today at the lesson we will do bird feeders. In winter they need help person. Without help, the birds will die. After all, in winter there is very little food for them. Winter feeding is aimed at reducing the mortality of wintering birds. Birds are very helpful. They are destroy harmful insects, preserving cultivated and wild plants, help in their pollination. They promote the spread of fruits and seeds. nine0005

It is known that a family of starlings destroys up to 24,000 insects and their larvae. A pair of tits that have settled in the garden along with their offspring can clean 40 large apple trees from insect pests. Useful for a person birds of prey that destroy small rodent pests of field crops and distributors of plague, typhus, jaundice and other diseases.

That's why caring for birds is an important and rewarding business. For their protection, nature reserves, sanctuaries. It must always be remembered that birds are friends of the forest, orchard and orchard! The birds need our help, we can build birdhouses and hang them up in the spring. Do not destroy bird nests, do not offend feathered friends. AND hang feeders in winter. nine0005

IV . Main stage.

- Guys, what can you do make bird feeders?

You can build a simple feeder from any available material. AT the case can be started up and empty plastic bottles or boxes, juice bags or milk, etc. Today I suggest you make an orange feeder.

- Why do you think I chose orange and not some other material? nine0005

Let's list the advantages of such a feeder:

1. it is completely edible,

2. eco-friendly (no plastic that will turn into garbage over time)

3. easy to use manufacturing,

4. economical,

- Before you start Let's repeat safety rules at technology lessons.

- We proceed to the manufacture of the feeder.

Feeder manufacturing steps:

1 step. Cut an orange in two and clean them from pulp.

2 step. Thread the string through the wall to attach the feeder to the tree.

3 step. Fill it with grain mixture.

IV . Summary of the lesson.

- What did you learn from lesson?

- Will they come in handy you this knowledge in life?

- Still at home make these feeders and hang them on a tree. And we will hang these feeders in our school garden and we will feed the birds that stayed over the winter in our edges. nine0005

V . Reflection. Evaluation of children's activities.
