Brand history
Since the mid-80s, WMF has been expanding its collaboration with designers around the world. This leads to completely different ideas and developments that characterize the diversity of WMF products. Back in 1853, Daniel Straub founded Straub & Schweizer with his family in Geislingen, Switzerland. It was a small factory for the production of small metal products. The brothers Friednich and Luis Schweitzer, trained blacksmiths, brought knowledge of metalworking to the company. wmf In the first decades after the founding of WMF, the creation of metal products was dominated by the forms of already historical eras of art. This is how exquisite serving items and sets for serving dishes were created, which were distinguished by their representative appearance. Already in 1862, the young company for the production of tableware from Germany WMF received a gold medal at the World Exhibition in London, and soon the first ever WMF tableware store was opened in Berlin. At this time, WMF began to develop the first coffee maker. This revolutionary WMF coffee maker worked on the principle of a percolator, in which hot water rose through the cylinder to the top and passed through the ground coffee. In the twenties, WMF hired a group of architects and designers who developed an exclusive collection called "Ikora". This collection was already equated to a work of art, rather than to household items. Colored glass and metal confirm WMF's reputation as an industrial manufacturer of tableware and art objects. After the Second World War, several WMF branches were destroyed, which were rebuilt and modernized at the same time, shortly after the end of the war. WMF branches were also founded in other European countries, as well as in the USA. At 19In 1950, WMF again hired 3,000 employees, and this number doubled already in 1960. wmf Stainless steel V2A, which was invented by Krupp, was first used for the production of WMF tableware and cutlery, later in 1932 the Cromargan product line was patented, which is a combination of two words Crom (Chrome), of which there is a lot of this metal alloy, and Argan, a silvery material that strongly resembles silver.
The steel from which WMF products are made is famous for its high quality, resistance to corrosion, rust, deformation, scratches and various types of damage. WMF cookware makes cooking easier and more convenient. For example, due to the multi-layered steel, the pans evenly distribute and accumulate heat, so they heat up faster and keep the temperature for a long time. WMF cookware is ideal for cooking, serving in style and also for storage. The coating is particularly scratch-resistant and withstands high temperatures, and most can be washed in a dishwasher, it retains its shine and excellent appearance. Thanks to the high-quality coating, vitamins and minerals are preserved in the food to the maximum, and the surface has an antibacterial coating, so the food retains the full taste and natural aroma of the ingredients for a long time. WMF is a manufacturer of cutlery and stainless utensils, pots, knives, which, even after years of use, do not lose their luster and look like new. WMF's Cromargan protect® alloy makes cutlery look flawless and keeps the surface free from heavy use for a long time.

Which tableware to choose for kindergarten – Gala Center
Kindergarten is an important component of a child's preschool development. And the point here is not at all that mom just needs to go to work, and there is no one to leave the little one at home with. Kindergarten is a paradise for kids. They communicate with their peers, play together, learn all the joys of life. Psychologists assure: no matter how hard parents try, they cannot replace their beloved child with live communication with friends. In kindergarten, the baby receives a comprehensive development, learns to adhere to the daily routine, and eats in a balanced way. This is where we will stop. After all, it is very important to know what the child eats and what tableware used in kindergarten.
The menu for preschoolers is compiled according to the rules of SanPin. Children receive a varied, balanced diet, taking into account the availability of seasonal products. The menu in kindergarten takes into account the age of the kids, their state of health, the season. A child under 36 months receives 1540 kcal per day, children from 3 years old - 1900 kcal. Every day, pupils are provided with a nutritious breakfast, second breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. The diet includes cereals, soups, meat dishes, fish, combined side dishes, bread, fruits, juices. And in kindergartens, the same dishes cannot be served every day. Repeat is allowed no more than once every 20 days.
Selection criteria for nursery utensils
According to the normative documents of SanPin, utensils for kindergarten are made of porcelain or faience, cutlery is made of stainless steel. The use of plastic and aluminum products is unacceptable. Such kitchen utensils are harmful to health. Plastic releases toxins when heated, aluminum oxidizes upon contact with acids and also releases harmful substances. Another important detail in the kindergarten kitchen is cutting boards. They should be absolutely smooth without the slightest gaps in which bacteria accumulate. All cutting boards and knives must be marked: BO - boiled vegetables, P - fish, X - bread, etc. Cooking utensils can also be labeled. These are stainless steel pots and stewpans, which are ideal for cooking and long-term storage of dishes.

Benefits of stainless steel cookware:
- No chipping, no breakage (metal pieces will never get into the food)
- Will not deform under regular high heat
- The walls do not form cracks and scratches where bacteria can hide. 100% hygiene guaranteed
- Does not react with products, does not change their natural taste.
The only disadvantage of stainless steel is its low thermal conductivity. However, manufacturers have solved this problem: the pans have a multi-layered bottom with fast and even heating.

Why is it better for children to eat from china plates? Ceramic dishes are too heavy for a child, glass breaks easily. The best option is porcelain. Against the background of faience, this material wins in terms of mechanical and thermal properties. It has a minimum percentage of porosity, it almost does not absorb moisture, and is resistant to alkalis and acids. The most important advantage of porcelain plates is 100% safety for health.
Kindergarten crockery lifespan
Children's tableware for kindergarten has been used for several years. The service life directly depends on the material and the quality of care. Throw away items if:
- scratches or dark spots appear on steel cutlery
- cracks and chips on enamel pots
- white coating on the inner walls of dried pots.
There are no concessions here. Pay attention to the smallest details. If chips appear on the enamelware, then the destruction process is started. A piece of enamel can get into food. Damaged metal will rust when exposed to water. You can no longer eat with such spoons and forks.
