Infantino Squeeze Station Lets You Make Your Own On-The-Go Baby Food

Making Our Own Baby Food Pouches with Infantino

When Owen first arrived, I thought about making our own baby food. Plenty of people do, so I figured I’d give it a go. Well… we didn’t end up doing that, and now at a year old, he’s pretty much done with “baby” food. However, Charlie (at 3.5) still loves pouches! When we were given the chance to try out Infantino’s Fresh Squeezed line, I thought this was the perfect time to make our own.

I set everything up the night before. When I opened the Squeeze Station box I was surprised at how simple it was! All I had to do to set it up was wash the parts and put it back together. To put your station together, you just need to slide the pouches into slots and screw on the tube. How easy is that?

I planned on making a couple while Charlie was at preschool, but when he got up in the morning and saw it set up, he informed me we would make it after he got home. I had no problem waiting. I love when Charlie helps with food prep. We’ve found that if kids can help, they’re more apt to eat whatever it is because they made it.

Sweet Potatoes & Apples

You’ll need:

1 large sweet potato, cooked
2 small apples
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions:

Peel apples and cut into slices
Sprinkle with nutmeg and cinnamon
Bake at 350 for ~10 minutes or until soft
Microwave sweet potato uncovered for ~8 minutes
Peel and dice sweet potato
Puree in blender/food processor

Yogurt with Banana & Oatmeal

You’ll need:

1 cup plain or vanilla greek yogurt
1 banana
1/4 cup dry oatmeal

Directions:

Puree banana in blender/food processor
Combine all ingredients

Each of these recipes made 3 pouches. I know these sound super easy, but they are! And… they come Charlie approved!

While Charlie can use the pouch as is, Owen’s not quite ready for that. That’s where the couple a spoons come in! You can screw a spoon right onto the pouch and feed it to baby like that. The great part is that if they don’t finish the whole pouch, you can pop it back in the fridge.

They now have these super cute pouches with designs!

Storing in the fridge or freezer is super easy with the freezer sleeve. It fits perfect in the fridge without taking up too much room.We will definitely be using this often. It was so easy to set up, use, and clean up. Did I mention that it’s dishwasher safe? My only gripe is that the suction is so strong while using the food press. The food would sometimes come back up while trying to remove the press. No worries though, we eventually got it all to stay in!

One thing I love about Infantino’s Fresh Squeezed Feeding Line is that the whole system costs less than a couple of the other baby food makers I had considered purchasing. I’m pretty sure the scary price tags are a big reason we opted not to make our own.

I had to hold the bottom of the station while Charlie pushed, because it kept moving on him. I didn’t have that problem, but he did. Charlie loved helping Mommy make our pouches and he can’t wait to make more!
