Having a sturdy, easy-to-clean high chair can be the difference between a manageable mealtime and a full-blown mess in the kitchen. And while we’ve written about lots of things to keep toddlers (and their parents) happy — including expert-recommended baby monitors, baby soaps, and baby-shower gifts — here, we’ve rounded up the best high chairs, as praised by the most enthusiastic reviewers on Amazon.

Cosco Simple Fold High Chair

Reviewers could barely contain their enthusiasm that a high chair this durable and compact could exist at such a reasonable price. “Lightweight, easily cleans, sturdy, portable to Grandma’s house and easily folds for storage. I love this high chair I bought for my Grandson. The tray is easy to clean as well, the pattern is cheery too,” raves one reviwer, adding, “I would buy another in a heartbeat should I be blessed with another baby in our lives.” Another reviwer calls this “by far the best high chair on the market.” “I have 5 children and needed to find something that was quick, easy to use and folded up for storage. This does all those things and more,” says another. Another reviewer used all-caps font multiple times to express how pleased she was: “I bought two of these chairs for my twins and they’re PERFECT. It’s a GREAT price and it came ALREADY PUT TOGETHER. I literally had to put the triangle things on the feet and it just folded out ready to go!”

Graco Simple Switch Portable High Chair and Booster

4.7 stars, 5,213 reviews

$166

Easy is a word that comes up in hundreds of reviews of this high chair and booster seat, starting with putting it together. According to one reviewer, “I assembled it in about 15 minutes with two children under two in the room. The instructions are clear and easy to understand and there aren’t any small, mystery pieces.” Dozens of other enthusiastic reviewers were equally pleased with how easy it was to clean this high chair after inevitable messes. One happy mother remarked, “The best part is the ease to clean; the seat cover is one piece (so no rogue food bits hiding underneath) when a simple wipe down isn’t enough the whole seat cover easily comes of and goes into the washing machine, even the straps easily come apart and can be thrown in the washer; air dry it all and the high chair is good as new!” Aside from its functionality, reviewers praised the high chair’s adorable appearance, with one going so far as to say her son “looks SO comfortable in this chair we say he looks like a king on his throne.”

Reviewers of the Joovy Nook were thrilled about this high chair’s large and functional swivel tray, a feature that came up in hundreds of reviews. According to one very enthusiastic reviewer, “The swing out tray is an absolute lifesaver, no running back and forth to get the high chair ready and then grabbing the baby — I just put him on my hip, and I can swing open the high chair tray with one hand, it’s amazing.” Other reviewers agreed with this happy mom, who explains that the tray’s plastic top which is very easy to remove and wash: “The removable tray is a great feature, especially for messy meals. Just pop it off and you have less the mess.” The seat is also easy-to-clean. As one parent attests, “The seat cover is SO nice - I wish my car’s upholstery was made out of this stuff. It wipes clean but has this really cool leather look to it.”

Graco Slim Snacker Ultra Compact High Chair

4.8 stars, 18,119 reviews

$70

You can open and close this high chair with one hand, which means one reviewer “can easily maneuver with the chair while wrangling my wiggly 8-month-old, and folding it down is a breeze.” The folding design makes it easy to store in limited space, which one small-apartment-dweller appreciates. She also describes both feeding her son and cleaning the aftermath as “easy” with this chair: “My son sits comfortably and is at a level and height I can easily feed him. Cleanup is easy; a wet cloth or Clorox wipe, and all is right in the world.” The plastic tray and seat pads are easy to remove, which helps with that cleanup. “It survived our daughter’s first-birthday smash cake,” writes one reviewer, who says this “easy-to-wipe down” chair is also “pretty durable,” seeing as she has used it for both of her children. Even though it folds up at the yank of a strap, she adds that the chair’s tray still has “a ton of room for her food, and room for a slap on suction cup tray toy.

Chicco Caddy Hook-On Chair

4.7 stars, 765 reviews

$49

“Hands down my favorite baby item I’ve ever purchased,” says one reviewer, who bought this hook-on high chair as a last-minute purchase for travel but has been using it in lieu of a standard high chair ever since returning home. “I use it at the table when we eat as a family and I’ll attach it to my kitchen bar. My daughter loves to sit in it and watch me wash dishes and cook,” she adds. Another parent hooks the chair “to our picnic table when we eat dinner outside,” and a pleased grandparent bought it “to have a place at the table for my grandson without adding furniture to my kitchen. Easy to store when he isn’t here. Easy to wash too.” Because it’s so compact, with no legs, it’s “easy to store” yet still “really secure. My 9 month old, 21 lb daughter loves bouncing around in it, but that sucker is so tight on the table that there are no worries.”

Baby Trend Sit Right High Chair, Bobble Heads

Reviewers love that this versatile Baby Trend high chair features six different heights and three recline adjustments. “My daughter is 7 months old. She sits in the seat comfortably with room to grow,” writes one reviewer. “Adjustable heights mean I can push it up to the kitchen counter for my daughter to watch me cook, lower it for her to join us at the dining room table, or feed her while sitting on the couch. ” The height adjustments were also a bonus for another reviewer, who says you can “feed if you’re standing or sitting” and likes to lower it so their “other child can play with the baby at his height.” And one reviewer proclaims it to be “the perfect high chair” for its “easy-to-use lock-in seat belt” and “adjustable height and adjustable seat, which really comes in handy when you are teaching your little one how to use a sippy cup and they have to tilt their heads way back.” The chair’s detachable components mean it’s “super easy to clean from top to bottom,” they add, and when you’re finished with it, “you simply pull the handles up on each side and it folds to a smaller size for storage.”

Fisher-Price SpaceSaver High Chair

$55

4.7 stars, 9,829 reviews

$55

This legless high chair securely attaches to other chairs of various sizes — including office and dining-room chairs — something that’s appreciated by more than 200 reviewers who live in small spaces. “This is great!” writes one reviewer whose cramped apartment didn’t have room for a full-size high chair. “We can use it on the floor and in a chair at the table. [It’s an] inexpensive option for a serious space saver.” They’re especially a fan of the chair’s adjustable back, which came in handy when their son “was starting to eat at 5 months but couldn’t completely sit up on his own yet.” Another reviewer calls it the “perfect solution for a small space,” as they don’t have a formal dining room. “A traditional high chair was a no-go!” They say this chair “fits nicely on our kitchen counter and is low profile enough to slide under the cupboards when we’re not using it.” And a third reviewer even went so far as to declare there’s “no reason to ever buy a huge, expensive high chair” after they purchased this one. They say this booster has worked wonderfully for their five daughters because “it does not take up any extra space, it just sits in a chair we already had. My [youngest] daughter is happy and comfortable in it and I could not be happier.”

Evenflo Convertible High Chair

“It’s a sturdy highchair (I was worried about how stable it would be, and it’s very stable), and converts to a perfect toddler size table and chair,” explains one reviwer, who notes, “I wish I’d had this for my other 3 kids.” Another reviewer reiterates the sturdiness, despite the convertible, two-piece design: “I have hyper dogs that run into it and I don’t worry that they will knock it over or collapse it like other ones. I like how it converts to a smaller high chair for when we eat in our living room (football games and such) and then into a toddler table and chair for later.” The multipurpose functionality also means this is a high chair that can grow with kids. “We began using it around four months and are still comfortably using it at over a year old,” says one parent. “The straps are convenient for keeping little one in a chair while we hangout outside, and the table allows him to do crafts and eat ‘like a big boy.’”

“Love that this chair rolls from room to room and that it can lean back,” begins one shopper, who appreciates that she can move around the house doing dishes or laundry while her daughter can “lie back or eat a snack. ” Those easy-to-move wheels come “with locks that can easily be fastened to disable moving,” adds another parent, who uses this chair daily and likes that the “legs of the chair are set very wide apart for maximum stability.” Many reviewers describe this chair as “stable,” including one who points out that people with especially squirmy babies should keep an eye on the chair when it’s in use but still feels her child “is safe and secure while in this seat, and he is quite all right with sitting in it.” Given its lower price point, some customers were initially skeptical about the quality, but at least one is now “pleasantly surprised!” They add, “It is well made, lightweight, and very easy to assemble.”

Joovy Foodoo Reclinable High Chair

$270

4.5 stars, 453 reviews

$270

This Joovy high chair can recline into one of five positions with the press of a button, a feature many reviewers say makes feedings much easier. “I can feed my baby a bottle … And give my arm a rest,” writes one customer, who appreciates that the height of the chair adjusts for “standing or sitting” feedings. Another shopper, whose child holds his own bottle, “can give him a bottle while he’s in it, recline [the] seat, and go about what I was doing.” On top of all the functionality, this high chair actually looks nice. One parent found it “surprisingly hard to find a reclining high chair that looks nice at a decent price,” but this one ticks all the boxes and has a safe five-point harness system. “You only have to do one simple click,” they say. “I can comfortably cook with hands free and have my child pulled up within arm’s reach and have her feeding herself a bottle [while] watching me cook, and I know she’s safe. That is priceless.”

A mother of two says that after a year of use, her 16-month-old is “transitioning to the booster seat, so that her baby sister will be able to use the highchair function while she uses the toddler part. ” Another happy mom appreciates that this high chair “eliminates the cost of a booster seat and table seat down the road.” Plus, the wheels mean “Baby can eat anywhere, even with mom and dad as they watch the game.”

“Most high chairs are extremely ugly, clunky, or look like something you’d sit on at the hair salon. I wanted something that wasn’t such an eyesore AND easy to clean,” one reviewer begins. They say they love the “super cute” design of this Stokke chair — and that they can get any food spills off it with just “a few swipes with a damp cloth. ” Though it is certainly not cheap, another reviewer says the Tripp Trapp is very durable and can endure years of daily use. They’ve used it for six years and “stand behind the investment 100% … It truly grows with your child and it looks cool.” And a third happy reviewer thinks that this chair “is worth every single penny … It is a beautiful modern chair that actually looks nice in your kitchen (not an eyesore like every other high chair).” But they add that the “best part” is that “my child loves sitting in it! She hated sitting in her previous high chair. Tell every new mother to register for this chair!”

He would slump sideways when eating and fuss to get out of the chair as soon as possible. With this chair, he sits with great posture and will now spend 45 minutes at the dinner table just sitting in his chair and playing with his food.” And many people like the natural wood finish, citing it as a draw. “I still love the look of this high chair and ease of clean up compared to plastic and fabric chairs,” admits one reviwer, while another says, “This is a well-built solid wood high chair. Its simple design makes for easy cleaning and use.”

Ciao! Baby Portable High Chair

“This is hands down the absolute best highchair purchase I have ever made. It’s quick, easy, and so portable,” raves one reviwer, noting, “It fold up to the size of a fold up chair that you would use at a sporting event or camping. This highchair is so good, that it has replaced the actual highchair at our house and has become our primary one.” Several reviewers admit to keeping it in the trunk of their cars, so it’s always on-hand, like one who explains, “I have been asked many times where I got this as it’s such a handy thing to have! We just keep it in the back of our van so we always have a highchair on the go. I use it in restaurants (verses using the restaurant ones that are often times not the cleanest), at friend’s houses, camping - you name it!” And many other adventurous parents like bringing this along for camping, with one reviewer even noting its the thing that helped her friend actually take her baby into the great outdoors: “ She was worried bringing her baby camping. He loved it, she was calm and it was the first time in a long time the baby slept for 9 hours straight and he needed a nap in the middle of the day. The chair made camping so much easier as he sat around the campfire with the rest of us.”

One strap not removable

Don't let the basic appearance of the Prince Lionheart SQUISH fool you; this table booster seat is a top-notch favorite for many reasons. It is speedy and straightforward to install. It is also easy to clean compared to others due to its material and one-piece design with no nooks and crannies for crumbs to hide. Honestly, we would be happy to clean this booster any day! The seat is comfortable enough for mealtime and snacks, and without a center crotch post, children's legs of varying sizes have plenty of space (even those adorable chunky thighs). We also appreciate Prince Lionheart's lightweight design for travel. You can bring this option on the road without feeling like you're carrying bricks.

Since children can be messy eaters, there's no doubt that buckles and straps collect grime, and we very much appreciate contenders with removable straps to make the cleaning process more manageable. Unfortunately, this seat has a crotch strap that isn't detachable, reducing its cleaning score. However, the booster's simplistic design is one of the easiest to clean, and this alone makes up for the loss. Besides that, we consider this affordable option pretty much a home run. If it meets your child's age range, we think it is one to consider.

The OXO Tot Nest Booster Seat is a durable contender with one of the most extended usage ranges. It accommodates children from 9 months to 50 pounds, and once you finish using the three-point harness straps, you can conveniently store them in a compartment under the seat. Children are well supported and comfortable in this seat, thanks to its high back and sides, padded foam insert, and ample legroom with no center crotch post. After each meal, clean the booster by wiping down the seat's lift-out cushion and smooth, plastic seat.

The foam insert does not catch all food crumbs, and some find their way into nooks and crannies underneath. Therefore, we recommend frequently inspecting under the lift-out cushion to ensure a clean booster seat. If you're looking for a well-rounded winner that offers support for a younger eater, this option may meet your needs.

Thanks to multiple extras, the Fisher-Price Deluxe Booster Seat is a convenient option. You could consider this seat an all-in-one product. It has three height settings adjustable to accommodate dining chairs and tables of varying heights or adjustments as your child grows. Thanks to its design with minimal crevices for food to hide, the entire product is relatively easy to clean, and the seat's hard plastic material is quick to wipe down. This booster includes a dishwasher-safe feeding tray, and, for a bonus, the chair's back folds down for convenient travel and storage.

Hard plastic may not be as comfortable as contenders with foam inserts, but if this is something you don't mind, we think this option is wallet-friendly and offers extras that may make mealtime more enjoyable for you and your little one.

The Ingenuity Baby Base is a grow-with-me chair that will last for years. Once your child can sit unaided (minimum six months of age), you can begin to use this booster. The foam insert can be used during the younger years and then removed when your child no longer needs it or fits. You can use it on the floor as a tot chair or strapped to a chair in booster mode, and the seat includes a stowaway tray. The booster seat is easily wiped clean with a damp cloth. Although the feeding tray is dishwasher-safe, we suggest hand washing it to extend its longevity, and the straps can be machine washed when a more serious cleaning is needed.

This versatile chair is not the most convenient option for portability. It will work in a pinch if you need something to bring to grandma's house, but given its weight and dimensions, the product is somewhat bulky compared to other products in our lineup. Also, the position of the crotch strap is placed directly behind the center crotch post, making it a little tricky to access if a baby is already seated. If you're looking for a chair to use at home, the Baby Base is a good-quality chair that will last through multiple childhood stages.

Warning: For your child's safety, you must read and follow the manufacturer's user manual. Pay close attention to age and weight recommendations and limits, the required dimensions of the adult chair that you'll fasten the table booster seat, and other safety precautions. Be aware that boosting children could increase their ability to push on the table with their feet, leading to tipping chairs and possible injuries.

Why You Should Trust Us

Led by a pediatrician and mother of two, the BabyGearLab team has been testing gear since 2013 and holds incredible experience and knowledge. Conducting this review is Molly Bradac, Senior Review Editor, and Nanny with over 15 years of experience. She has used various baby-related products over her career, including table booster seats. Therefore, there's no doubt that Molly is the perfect expert to guide your search.

We purchased each product in our review, and each contender experienced hands-on testing and a side-by-side comparison to evaluate performance. To narrow down the competition and identify the top performers took lots of research, testing, and side-by-side comparing.

All products in our lineup feature an adjustable three-point harness.Boosters vary in usage ages. Consider your child's age and needs, as these details will likely help narrow down the options. Not all boosters in our lineup include a tray, but the Ingenuity Baby Base does.

Analysis and Test Results

We lined up the contenders for side-by-side comparisons and hands-on testing. Since we believe a top-notch product should be easy to use for parents and comfortable for children, we kept these critical factors in mind during testing. During our evaluation, we also looked for any design flaws or hindrances and pros that influence a table booster seat's overall performance.

Value

If you're looking for the best bang for your buck, the Prince Lionheart SQUISH is hands-down the best deal, plus the product's overall score is high compared to other contenders in the competition. Another wallet-friendly option is the Fisher-Price Deluxe Booster Seat. This booster offers multiple extras (height adjustability, tray, and foldability). In contrast, other contenders in our lineup don't provide these perks. If price is not a limiting factor and you plan on using a product for the long haul, consider the Ingenuity Baby Base. This versatile option grows with your child, and it includes a stowaway tray.

The Chicco Pocket Booster Seat is height adjustable (offering three height levels). The mechanism to adjust the booster's height is located under the seat. The Ingenuity Baby Base has some attractive elements, including a seat design that accommodates younger users, a stowaway tray for convenient storage, and foam inserts to amp up the comfort.

Ease of Use

A table booster seat should be easy to use; otherwise, you'll be more likely to keep your child on your lap during mealtime or skip assistance altogether. Plus, you'll breathe a sigh of relief using an easy and quick option to install. Who needs extra fuss, right? Therefore, while scoring this metric, we evaluated a booster seat's level of difficulty to install and ability to make strap and harness adjustments.

A couple of contenders that rise to the top in the ease of use metric include the Prince Lionheart SQUISH and the OXO Tot Nest Booster Seat. Both options have straps that are easy to pull, adjust, and tighten. The Skip Hop Zoo Booster Seat is also easy to install; however, adjusting the straps takes slightly more effort than the products mentioned above, but the overall task is still easier than other contenders in our lineup. And once in place, we were able to achieve a sturdy installation.

Despite some effort to adjust straps, installing the Skip Hop Zoo Booster Seat was fairly easy. The Prince Lionheart SQUISH was one of the easiest and quickest boosters to install.

We struggled the most with the Ingenuity Baby Base as it does not offer pull straps. Instead, you have to adjust and shorten straps before buckling, which can be tricky. It takes effort and muscle to buckle a tight strap. Also, the OXO Tot Perch with Straps did not score well in this metric. The installation process was not as quick or straightforward. Access to the straps is under the seat cushion, and if you need to make further adjustments while your child is eating, you'll need to remove them to lift the seat. We also struggled to get a tight fit, and it took longer than other options.

The Fisher-Price booster is loaded with extras that we think are worth the cost.

Credit: Abriah Wofford

Of course, one perk of using a table booster seat is bringing your little one closer to the table action so they can eat with the family. However, depending on the chosen chair, the height of the table, and your child's height, the booster may come just short of the actual table height or be too tall, not allowing enough space for a toddler's legs. Having an adjustable height feature can increase the chances of compatibility. The Fisher-Price Deluxe Booster Seat and Chicco Pocket Booster Seat offer very useful height adjustability, which will be handy if you regularly dine at various locations with different chairs and tables.

The Chicco Pocket Booster Seat offers three height settings to accommodate growing children and tables of differing levels.

A table booster seat may not collapse or fold down. Still, a few contenders in our lineup offer this ability, including the Chicco Pocket Booster Seat, Fisher-Price Deluxe Booster Seat, and OXO Tot Nest Booster Seat. The Prince Lionheart SQUISH does not fold, but it is incredibly lightweight, making it portable for family road trips. These seats are not incredibly space-saving, nor did they earn extra marks for being more portable; we think shedding some light on their ability may be helpful for those who value travel-friendly products.

The Ingenuity Baby Base is comfortable and supportive, especially for younger users; however, the middle horn can limit leg space, which may become an issue for older children or those with adorable chunky thighs.

Child Comfort

Considering how often your child will be sitting in a table booster seat for mealtimes and snacks, it is important to consider comfort. While scoring this metric, we took a look at the seat's design, material, and quality. We also asked ourselves: Is the seat comfortable? Do you need to reposition your child regularly? Does the tray squish body parts? Is there enough legroom?

The OXO Tot Nest Booster Seat excels in this metric, thanks to its foam insert that offers enough padding and no center crotch post to limit legroom for children of varying sizes. It also has a high back and sides to provide support. The Prince Lionheart SQUISH was also a well-loved option among testers, providing enough lift and space. The Chicco Pocket Booster Seat ranks low in this metric. We think it offers the bare minimum, and the hard plastic is also not welcoming for children to sit and relax while eating.

The Prince Lionheart SQUISH is hands-down one of the easiest to clean, thanks to its one-piece design.

Ease of Cleaning

Children are messy eaters, and there's not much you can do about it. However, we suggest selecting a booster with a design that is easy to keep tidy and clean for your sanity. We compared and evaluated each contender's design to rank the competition in this metric. One-piece construction with minimal nooks and crannies for food and grime to hide ranks higher than boosters with multiple parts. Also, since straps can get dirty and stain, a good cleaning may be necessary, and we gave bonus points to seats with removable straps as this can help the cleaning process.

All contenders have removable straps, except for the Prince Lionheart SQUISH as it has a crotch strap that doesn't disconnect, which slightly lowered its score. However, this option is of one-piece construction and one of the easiest to clean among the competition, causing it to remain in good standing. The Ingenuity Baby Base and OXO Tot Perch with Straps did not score as well in this metric, mainly due to more areas for liquid and crumbs to hide. Regardless of which product you select, read the user manual's care instructions for cleaning details as manufacturers can differ in guidance, and there's no right way across the products.

Tip: It is best to wipe your booster down after each use to keep your child's booster seat in good condition and clean.

Important Safety Note

For your child's safety, you'll need to stay close by while they're in a table booster seat attached to a chair. There is always the potential for kids to push against the table and cause the chair to tip backward. This potential is even more likely if you have a particularly wiggly or rambunctious child.

The OXO Tot Perch with Straps boosts children ages 15 months to 70lbs. Unfortunately, access to the chair straps is under the seat cushion, which is inconvenient if you need to make adjustments mid-meal.

Stokke Tripp Trapp Baby Highchair Test | Growing family

I was offered to test the Stokke Trip Trap chair, and I gladly agreed, because I had not studied the topic in depth yet, and it would be time, the older children are studying at school with might and main.

I waited for him for a long time, because I was the last one in line. On the one hand, time worked for me, all my children sit down by 5 months, and I so wanted to put Andryunka in a chair. On the other hand, my curiosity simply did not let me sleep peacefully, I wanted to quickly test the chair in “field” conditions. While I was waiting for the chair, I managed to read about it, study the design from the pictures from all sides and even choose my favorite color.

So, on October 21st I received the orange Stokke Trip Trap chair and accessories for it. Naturally, I completely forgot that during testing it will be the end of the quarter, which means that I will have fun all day long, drawing random fours that appeared in my blockheads, filling out a journal and grading for a quarter of my dear 6th graders. Yes, the teacher always has enough work, and at the end of the quarter it is enough with his head. So my older children helped me with photos, videos and adjusting the chair for different heights, and I wrote the text with my left heel, giving grades for a quarter to students and feeling like Julius Caesar. Here is a serious advantage of the chair: child 9years can easily adjust it in just a minute.

The first thing that could not but rejoice is that it is compact. It is the most compact of all the chairs that I have seen, so it can be used in a very limited space. In our apartment, the kitchen is not small, but Soviet kitchens of 4 square meters are a song, or kitchens of 8 squares for a three-room apartment. What for? If there are three rooms, then most often not 2 people live in the apartment, and sometimes guests come to people. I always dreamed of learning the secret of small kitchens from those who designed these same kitchens. But even our kitchen is not rubber, and the children's chair "eats off" a significant part of the space. The same spoiling chair stood in a corner where I could only put a bag of garbage before, but then I stopped, because children love to gut the garbage and even eat (so what, there are two hundred toys, it’s much better to rummage through the garbage, usually This is where parents hide all the most interesting things). The corner and the chair immediately liked each other, so he stayed there for the duration of his stay in our apartment.

The chair really looks like a chair, like a real piece of furniture, not a highchair, and its appearance is very designer, elegant and streamlined. It is immediately clear that the materials are of good quality and of high quality, the design is beautiful, there are a lot of accessories, the instructions are understandable even to me (I'm still a techie).

The next pleasant thing is the absence of mechanisms. Do you think that a mechanism that puts the back into a lying position or adjusts the footrest is cool? So you have not yet washed the porridge, carefully poured by a child on a chair, from the cracks of these mechanisms. I had the experience of “communication” with different heaped chairs: chico polly, Mazekeevsky and even tatamiya, they all have food clogged in the cracks. You can still wash the cape, but you can wash all the mechanisms ... Perhaps only my children are such amazing pigs, but I teach them to eat on their own even before they are a year old, so they only eat chairs like that! The stokke chair has an ideal woodworking and coloring, so it is enough to wipe it with a cloth to make the chair perfectly clean. And all accessories are very easy to wash and wash. There are no gaps, when the screws are tightened, everything is perfectly fastened together.

Next, I had to adjust the chair for one of the children. Yes, everyone who has already learned to speak wanted to be the first to try the chair. At that moment (when everyone was ready to bite the brothers and take the chair for themselves) I thought it would be great if the adjustment was on latches, like the legs of an IKEA chair, then you could instantly change the height. And so I armed myself with the key that is in the kit, gave it to my son .... and realized that everything was not scary at all, in a minute or two even such a “technician” as a boy 9years old, able to adjust the chair. And the latches are essentially not needed, because their children will snap open with great joy.

We adjusted the chair to fit the baby and attached the accessories. I looked on the Internet that for absolutely crumbs there is a cradle that is attached to a chair, it comes with a mobile, belts and clamps on the legs against tipping over. Why didn't I know about this chair before? Why? A deck chair on the floor, of course, helps out, but how cool it would be to put a newborn in such a design while I'm doing things in the kitchen. And the view is better for the child, and it’s more convenient for me, I don’t have to bend down to the floor, and no older brother accidentally kicks a deck chair with his foot, rushing past in a whirlwind.

The chair was delivered to me without seat belts, but they are sold. For a child of 5 months, they are not needed. But the awl for 8 months needs to be fastened and stronger, and even stronger. All mine are smart and curious. But it should be noted that even the “awl” is not so easy to get out of the chair without any belts. There is also a side and a seat, which is adjustable in depth of landing, so the child sits in it as it should, he does not have a lot of extra space to maneuver, if everything is correctly adjusted.

Can a child tip over a chair by pushing off a table? Maybe if the height is not adjusted correctly, or if the table is designed in such a way that it is easy to push off. But I don’t consider this a disadvantage of the chair, my blockheads fell off the stools and overturned the tatamiyu, pushing off the table. Yes, that's Tatamiya! Are you weak? Conclusion: always watch how to put a chair so that the child does not tip over. Any chair! A child is an amazing creature that will think of doing something that you would not even think of. But we decided to additionally conduct a safety study. We deliberately overturned a chair with a baby and a 4-year-old girl. Attention! No children were harmed or abused as a result of the experiment. Experiments on humans were absolutely harmless. So, the elders happily knocked over the kids, and I caught them. Without safety skids, the chair can be knocked over, but not so easy, you have to push with force. But with the runners, the elders could not overturn him, he simply did not fall back, but returned forward. The elder began to use force, lifting a chair. Considering that Vera weighing 18 kg was sitting in it, I began to worry that the safety skids would simply break, they are plastic, but it was also interesting to finish the experiment. Bottom line: the chair stubbornly did not tip over, the runners are very strong in bending, they did not crack anywhere! Such runners must be bought if the child is inventive for circus tricks and acrobatic numbers.

I divided testing into three parts: baby (baby), preschoolers, schoolchildren.

Baby:
We have not introduced complementary foods to the baby yet, he is only 5 months old and he eats his cheeks on mother's milk. But he is a sociable guy, even very much, so he likes to sit at the table with us, especially if guests come. Everyone needs to make eyes, show their ability to say “brrrruuuuu” and demonstrate a charming smile. The son appreciated the chair very much, because, sitting on it, you can reach everything that lies on its side of the adult table and even steal delicious pasta from your older brother (there is nothing to click with your beak in a large family). I liked that when I introduced complementary foods, it would be possible to put the guy right at our table, so that he would be in our society, and it would be more convenient for me to feed him. All soft cotton inserts are easy to wash in a typewriter, which is extremely important for a mother of a small pig. And, of course, the chair turned out to be much more compact than the IKEA chair that we had in the kitchen, I’m already silent about the size of expensive transformers, which we parted with a long time ago because of their dimensions, designed for a private house with a huge terrace. I was very pleased with the design and functionality of the Stokke Triptrap chair, and my son was pleased with the opportunity to sit at an adult table. A pleasant nuance for Andryushka was the footboard, having got used to it, he even tried to get up. but so far he hasn't been able to.

Preschoolers:
For preschoolers, the chair is extremely relevant for modeling, drawing and eating. When a child sits on a standard chair, the standard table is too high for him, it is not very convenient for him to eat or draw. When drawing, Vera often gets on her knees when she is engaged at an adult table. You can, of course, study at a low desk, but it’s not convenient for me or dad to sit next to her for a long time. And it’s also possible to play board games only on a large table, and for a preschooler who is low on a regular chair, it turned out to be very comfortable to sit on Stokka. Vera, of course, also stated that the chair belongs to her, and the rest will get by, especially since the orange color is, of course, for girls, and she is the only girl, so she has already decided everything for everyone.

Egor, who is almost two years old, the height of the chair is even more important, only he needs to be seated with straps, otherwise he tries to climb onto the back, dance cha-cha-cha on a chair and swing on it (by the way, a child cannot swing a chair - this is very important , from stools, he constantly falls, swinging on them).

Due to the backrest, the child keeps his back straight, and if he sat crookedly, you can always remind him to keep his back pressed against the backrest and, voila, the child already sits perfectly straight. And the legs on the footboard do not hang out. Vera carried this chair from the kitchen to the room with her, she fell in love with it very much.

I wanted my daughter to draw a chair, but I didn't get any understanding from the stubborn girl: she drew herself, grass and her house. Where is the chair? “But he is standing in the house, he is not visible behind the wall, so that no one would drag him away, everyone likes such chairs, and everyone drags them away from Wuxi.” Wuxia is a code house nickname of faith. I'll scan the drawing when I'm at school, the children killed the scanner at home, conducting experiments with universal rays.

There are no photos of Georgy and Nikolay, we are at the end of the term, and the boys, in order not to rush sausages with us, went to their grandmother. Yes, I did not think that at first it was necessary to conduct a photo session. But I think that we will definitely get such chairs, and not just one, so I will take pictures of them on such a chair.

Schoolchildren:
The chair is very comfortable for toddlers, but for schoolchildren it turned out to be even more valuable, especially for a first grader! So the manufacturers of the chair urgently need to start positioning it in the first place, as the most necessary purchase for the 1st class, along with a backpack and a pencil case! On an ordinary chair at an ordinary table, a first-grader (and a second-grader with a third-grader) does not sit correctly, hunches his back and props his head with his hand, and I walk around and scare my son so that he sits evenly, my hobby is such. You can put a pillow so that the height of the chair matches the height of the table, but the legs dangle, and if they dangle, then the child will certainly chat with them, but how else? You can buy a school desk, but the younger ones will certainly come to interfere and draw a dudyuka in copybooks, it is low. Yes, and it’s not convenient for mom to sit next to her at a low desk, but she will have to sit long and hard, throughout elementary school, if mom wants to achieve good knowledge, even handwriting and a creative approach to learning from a child. So the ideal option is a chair that fits the height of a standard (or non-standard) table. This chair turned out to be what I was looking for, my first grader stopped dangling his legs (it just didn’t work out because of the footboard), hanging his elbow from the table and propping his head up with his hand, and his back didn’t hunch, and if he hunched a little, then I said one word “back”, and he aligned his back with the back of the chair. The child said that he wouldn’t give this chair to the elders, he now has it, “because Nina Evgenievna (teacher) said that grade 1 is the most important, and a first grader should have the best table and chair, the best pens and the most beautiful notebooks ”, so that until the end of the first class, he will not give the chair to anyone. The elders grinned and quietly waited for the chair to be adjusted for them.

Two days later they got the right to test the comfort of the chair, they said they liked it very much and they want such chairs for themselves. The older one even defiantly carefully wrote his homework, although usually he does not have letters in his notebook, but cuneiform. He said that if the chair was not ordinary, but adjustable, then he would always write beautifully. Yes, I do believe it. And if the floors were more even...

Nursing mother:
I could not even think that such a chair would be just a godsend for a nursing mother and guitar lovers. He also has a footrest, so feeding on it is very convenient: you adjust the stand and seat for yourself, sit down, put your foot on the stand and feed. It turns out that you don’t need to bend towards the child, you don’t need any pillows for feeding. Mom sits in a correct and comfortable position. When playing the guitar, you guessed it, you also need a footrest and the correct posture.

Testing conclusions.

Advantages of Stokke Trip Trap:

  1. Stokke chair very beautiful, like real furniture

  2. Stokke chair is reliable and of high quality, it is obviously very durable

  3. Stokke high chair very compact, takes up little space

  4. Stokke chair is comfortable for the baby, the baby can sit at the adult table

  5. The stokke chair is very comfortable for preschoolers and schoolchildren, they sit correctly when writing and drawing, their legs do not dangle, their back is kept exactly on the back of the chair

  6. Stokke chair useful for breastfeeding mothers and guitarists

  7. The stock chair with carrycot can be used as a chaise longue for the baby, and even comfortable in height.

  8. Stokke chair is easy to adjust, assemble and disassemble. Even a junior high school student can handle the adjustments.

My conclusion: every family should have such a chair, more precisely, every child up to 10 years old for sure. I really wanted all of mine to have such chairs, but 7 chairs .... Eh, it's not cheap anymore.

Disadvantages of Stokke Trip Trap:

Can such a wonderful chair have disadvantages? Maybe everything has minuses, but I am a very picky person, and I already hinted at his minus when I wrote that I want this for all children.

The main disadvantage of this chair for many is the price. No, its functionality fully justifies the price, but you can’t call it low, the thing is chic, but expensive.

One more minus - fabric bedding for the baby under the buttocks.
