New Year's table decoration for the New Year 2016 in the style of a monkey

How you meet the New Year, so you will spend it. Therefore, paying tribute to traditions, you should think over the meeting of the coming year to the smallest detail. One of the most important nuances is the decor of the festive table.

According to the eastern calendar, the coming year will pass under the sign of the Red (Fire) Monkey. Therefore, when preparing a festive feast, you need to try to please the hostess of 2016. What will be to the liking of this overseas guest? Let's figure it out.

Three main rules for decorating the table for the New Year

Setting the table is not an easy task. Therefore, you will need to show your creativity and ingenuity. Basic rules on how to decorate the table for the New Year 2016:

  1. Table setting and festive dishes on it should correspond to the symbols of the New Year. In this case, it is desirable to play the main role in the image of the Monkey.
  2. The New Year's atmosphere should also be felt so that the feast does not become ordinary and similar to other holidays.
  3. Making out the table, you do not need to pile it up with all sorts of decorative elements. In this case, it is important to feel the so-called "golden mean".

And of course, you should take into account what category of guests the feast is designed for: children or adults, family, friends or work colleagues.

In this article we will offer you various options for table setting, from which you can choose the most suitable for you.

Colors of the New Year's table - 2016

First of all, you need to focus on the colors of the New Year's table. What does it depend on? How to choose the right color?

The answer to these questions lies in the preferences of the 2016 hostess.

Red Monkey loves fruity shades of red, gold, yellow and orange. It is this spectrum that will form the basis for the color of the festive table.

Of course, these colors will not be the only ones: in order to create a light contrast effect, we will need decorative elements of other "Christmas" colors - blue and green.

Choosing New Year decorations for the festive table

New Year's table 2016 should combine traditional serving and original decoration in the spirit of the jungle. We will put this principle at the basis of our design idea.

Then we can start choosing paraphernalia for table decoration.

Candles.

This year they must certainly be present on the table. Why? Because we are preparing to celebrate the year of the Fire Monkey, which means that the flame will act as a symbolic element of decor.

You can decorate the table with candles in two ways: in classic colors (solid white, red or blue) or make them more exotic (for example, make candles from orange peel, tie them with cinnamon sticks or decorate them with pineapple peel).

Tablecloth.

It can be traditional white or colorful. The New Year's table will look especially bright with a red or orange tablecloth. And if your festive feast will include dishes with tropical fruits, you can choose a green tablecloth in order to create an atmosphere of exotic jungle.

Small Christmas tree.

You can pay tribute to tradition and place in the center of the table a small artificial Christmas tree (you can make it yourself from tinsel, paper or other materials) or a composition of pine needles.

Edible exotic.

If you want to get away from the classics of New Year's table setting, try making a Christmas tree out of exotic fruits or sweets.

Tinsel and beads - monkey passion.

The patroness of 2016 - the Monkey - loves everything bright and shiny, and therefore tinsel and fashionable beads will come in handy. They can decorate small homemade compositions on the table or hang around the entire perimeter of the table.

Christmas balls and other balls.

Let's add even more sparkle to the decoration of the New Year's table! When choosing the right options, pay attention to their color: it is recommended to make compositions from gold, red, yellow and orange balloons.

By the way, you can make them with your own hands from fruit, paper or fabric.

Christmas balls for table decoration should be chosen in the color of the tablecloth and the overall solution.

Tropical fruits.

As you know, monkeys are big fans of such delicacies. Therefore, do not forget to offer such treats to the hostess of the New Year.

Classic decor.

Of course, we should not forget about the traditional attributes on the New Year's table: satin ribbon bows, figurines of fairy-tale characters (Snowmen, Santa Claus, Snow Maiden, elves, deer and others) and small compositions in red and green colors.

Cloth napkins.

They must match the color and style of the tablecloth. Today it is fashionable to tie them up with ribbons or beads, as well as put special metal rings on them.

Have you guessed what color these accessories should be? Ribbons are better to choose red or orange, beads and rings - gold (this color will not only emphasize the theme of the Year of the Monkey, but also give a luxurious look to the table setting).

As you can see, there are many ways to decorate the New Year's table. It all depends on your imagination and the chosen design style. Fans of the classics can use a minimum of exotic attributes, and those who like the atmosphere of the jungle and wild tropics will be delighted if this theme becomes the main one when decorating the table.

The central image of the festive table is the Monkey

You can't do without the symbol of the year on the New Year's table. That is why housewives must find a suitable figure in advance. It is best to stock up on soft toys that you can buy at the store or make your own.

But it can be a small porcelain figurine, as well as crafts made from vegetables and fruits. A popular version of the compositions is a monkey sitting under a palm tree (as they say, in its native habitat).

How can this image be played? We will offer you some ideas:

  • Monkeys are known to be playful and restless animals. That is why this active prankster can be found in the most unexpected places at the table: on a chair hanging on the corner of a tablecloth, under the lid of a salad bowl, on top of a pineapple, in compositions of pine needles and toys, and also on a bottle of champagne.
  • You can give each guest a small box with a totem totem in the shape of a monkey inside. Such a talisman will bring happiness and good luck throughout the coming year, so your guests will be delighted with such a pleasant surprise. If you are organizing a children's feast, you can put a cookie in the form of a monkey inside the gift box (you can color this edible figurine with mastic).
  • The monkey can also get lost in festive compositions . Again, they can be made from fruits or other materials (needles, paper, fabric, ribbons, wood, etc.)
  • If you have a soft toy in the form of a monkey , then you can put fruits (for example, pineapple, oranges or tangerines), a bottle of champagne, a box with a gift tied with a ribbon, or cutlery (knives, forks, spoons).

Serving guests sweets and coffee, you can try yourself in the coffee art technique - drawings on foam. And, of course, choose a picture of a monkey. See the photos below for examples of inspiration.

A short latte art tutorial: how to quickly and easily draw a monkey on coffee foam.

Want some more bright ideas? Then read on and you will find out how you can decorate holiday dishes in such a way that they will please not only your guests, but also the capricious hostess of 2016.

New Year's menu: decorating dishes in the jungle style

When preparing a festive feast for the celebration of the Year of the Fire Monkey, you should feel like a culinary decorator. Such a task will be within the power of any hostess. In addition, creating a delicious design is also a rather interesting process that brings a lot of positive.

We will offer you bright creative ideas for decorating New Year's dishes that will make your table original and unusual.

The image of a monkey in the design of dishes.

Well, where would we be without her? When decorating the New Year's table, by all means prepare a dish in the form of a monkey . It can be a salad, sandwiches, sliced vegetables or fruits, as well as a variety of sweets (cakes, cookies, muffins, pastries).

Dessert dishes can be decorated with putty, which can be used to make a monkey, palm tree or exotic fruits and use it as a fondant.

Cakes can be decorated with monkey figurines and fondant bananas.

Palm trees.

You can make them from pineapples (such compositions, of course, will be large in size, but very believable). On the top of such a palm tree, you can fix a pineapple with lush green branches. Fruits are usually fastened with wooden skewers inserted inside. On the trunk of a palm tree, you can "plant" toy monkeys or figurines of these fidgets made from fruits.

In addition, images of palm trees can be laid out on a plate using banana and kiwi slices, as well as made from olives on a skewer and greens (as shown in the photo).

Olive and green palm trees decorate the salad.

Fruit cuts.

This year you can't do without tropical fruits at the New Year's feast, because in order to please the Red Monkey, you need to cook her favorite dishes.

Small snacks look great on the New Year's table. We offer you recipes with photos of elegant and delicious salads in tartlets.

Would you like to celebrate the New Year together with your loved one? We share ideas for arranging a romantic evening.

And here you will find recipes for delicious appetizers for the buffet table. They will be useful both for a home holiday and for a New Year's corporate party.

You can serve cuts in different ways: in pineapples, on trays, laying them out in the form of a monkey, Christmas trees, making a large composition in several tiers , putting fruits in a basket with needles or presenting each guest with an individual cut in orange peel.

Candy pineapples.

This fruit is especially favorite for the hostess of the new year 2016. Therefore, it can not only be included in the cutting, but also made by hand. Of what? From candy.

How? See master classes for making pineapple and candy trees in our material on creating New Year's compositions with your own hands.

Traditional New Year motifs.

Do not forget about the classic decorations for New Year's dishes: salads in the form of a clock (the hands of which are about to strike 12), candles made from dough, cheese and herbs, as well as dishes stylized as fairy-tale characters.

Vegetable, fruit, cheese and meat trees.

We will pay special attention to this festive tree, which can be presented on your New Year's table in its original form - cutting vegetables, fruits, sausages, cheese, and also as a salad.

Meat, vegetable and cheese slices can be served as a Christmas tree.

And, of course, salads can be laid out in the form of a Christmas tree or coniferous branches.
