Organic baby food stage 3

Make Your Own Stage 3 Baby Foods

Starting around eight months old, your baby is likely eager to try new tastes and textures every day as they develop new motor skills and get more experience with eating. At Beech-Nut, we love seeing how babies transition from smooth purees to the new consistencies and combos of stage 3 foods, but we know stage 3 blends can be hard to find in your local grocery store. So, here are some tips on how to repurpose stage 2 blends to add new textures and more protein for a growing baby.

Repurpose Stage 2 Purees

Mix in whole grains: Until now, your baby has likely only tasted smooth purees. As he or she ages, it’s important to diversify the consistency of their meals. Mix in heartier textures such as quinoa, barley, or oats to Beech-Nut jars to add a grainy toothsomeness to baby’s meals. Overnight oats are one of our favorite breakfast options, because it’s so quick and easy! Check out our pumpkin spice overnight oats recipe here.

Try pasta: One of the most common introductory foods for babies is bite-sized pasta pieces, as long as baby is able to chew on his own. Since you probably already have pasta in your kitchen, this is a quick and convenient way to add some texture to baby’s diet. As your baby begins to embrace these foods, try this recipe from our Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Eileen for an easy-to-make, healthy spaghetti sauce using Beech-Nut vegetable purees like green beans or sweet potatoes!

Mash lentils, chickpeas & beans: Adding mashed lentils, chickpeas, and beans is a common way to thicken up soups, but they’re also perfect for thickening your favorite purees! Try adding these to any Beech-Nut jar for a meal complete with calcium, iron, and fiber.

Introduce protein: Your baby may be getting protein in their diet from milk, but this is a great time to add other protein sources. Try adding small, shredded pieces of any of these to one of our Naturals or Organics jars for a wholesome dinner in a jar! Turkey and sweet potatoes is one of our favorites.

  • Lean red meat, poultry (chicken, turkey) or fish (make sure your baby doesn’t have an allergy)
  • Well-cooked eggs (yolk and white)
  • Full fat cottage cheese
  • Whole-milk yogurt (avoid yogurts with artificial sweeteners)

Add purees to your favorite recipes: Our purees aren’t just for babies—these snacks will have your whole family wanting more. Add your favorite flavors to soft foods your baby can enjoy, like muffins or pancakes cut into small bites. For an easy recipe, check out some yummy mango puree pancakes our Pediatric Nutrition Expert Nicole here.

Let Baby Self-Feed

Try dissolvable snacks: Babies who like feeding themselves will love Beech-Nut Melties. Our Melties are designed to help baby practice fine motor skills, while being easily dissolvable to minimize choking hazards. As your child grows, add pretzel pieces and dried fruit for a healthy trail mix! See a list of Beech-Nut Melties here.

Get Creative!

Be the chef—create your own combos: We love seeing what innovative fruit & veggie mixes we can come up with. Chop or mash your own favorite fruits & veggies and add them to our Beech-Nut purees to introduce new combinations and textures to baby. Make sure to let us know what you come up with. Some ideas: chickpeas, lentils, or other baby-friendly leftovers from your family meal.

Make a frozen treat: Frozen purees are great for snacks and can also help soothe a teething baby. For help preparing your own, check out this frozen puree teething heart recipe from BabyFoodE here.

When I learned about Little Spoon, I felt so reassured knowing that there's a truly healthy, fresh, uncompromisingly high-quality option out there now for babies.”Stephanie MiddlebergRegistered Dietician & Founder, Middleberg Nutrition

              Your questions, answered.

Typically, your baby is ready to start solids between 4-6 months. We always recommend talking to your pediatrician to discuss your baby’s needs when it comes to starting solids. There are a few telltale signs that your baby may be ready:

              • Sitting up with little to no support
              • Strong head control
              • Has outgrown their tongue thrust reflex
              • Is starting to show interest in food and what those around are eating

Your child’s health is our #1 priority and we will always be transparent about our ingredients, nutritional information and recipes.

When it comes to your baby, we know how upsetting the recent congressional report on heavy metals in grocery store baby food was for parents. At Little Spoon, we have always done things differently. All of our babyblends are 100% plant-based, vegan and made with the highest quality ingredients, 100% organic and non-GMO. We focus on a wide variety to diverse your little one’s diet, we never use rice (high in organic and inorganic arsenic), fortifiers or additives in our blends.

We use cold-pressure technology as an alternative to heat pasteurization, killing harmful bacteria without the use of anything artificial. This allows our Babyblends to stay fresh in the fridge for up to 14 days or in the freezer up to 3 months. Occasionally, we use a touch of organic lemon to naturally preserve fresh food.

Much of the baby food on grocery store shelves is heavily processed with extreme heat so it can last for years on a shelf, and often has preservatives, additives and fortifiers. In the last two years, there has been a congressional report published on the quality of popular baby food brands, quantities of heavy metals and traceability concerns. Not cool, and not the quality nutrition we want for our kids.

At Little Spoon, we use an FDA approved food safety technique, cold-pressure, not heat pasteurization, to ensure our Babyblends are safe and stay fresh in your fridge for 14 days or freezer for up to 3 months. We source from trusted suppliers and farmers and our Babyblends are USDA Certified Organic and made with non-gmo ingredients. We work with pediatricians and leading experts to develop blends that fit every eating stage for your baby, from first bites and single-ingredient blends through to advanced puree recipes. Our blends serve as a great companion to baby-led weaning and our complex blends offer thicker textures and whole pieces of food as your baby ages. Purees are under $3 per blend.

All your Little Spoon products can be stored in the fridge for up to 14 days, or in your freezer for up to 3 months.

Our Blends can be eaten at a range of temperatures, whatever works best for your baby! To warm up your blend, we recommend putting the container in a shallow bowl of warm water and stirring until heated. If you wish to microwave, simply pour the puree into a microwave safe dish.

Yes! Based on the information you share with us on your baby’s age and eating stage, we’ll recommend the Bayblends that best match your little one’s developmental needs. As your baby ages, we’ll update our menu recommendations with each new box. You can always manually change, add and remove Babyblends with ease to your upcoming deliveries.

You bet! You will always have full control to modify your order on your Delivery Schedule at any time. If you have questions about what blends are best for your baby, you can reach out to us at [email protected] or use the chat feature to talk with one of our Child Nutrition certified Care Team members.

We're big fans of purees (our name is Little SPOON, after all 🥄). But we love that some parents and littles want to take a more tiny hands-on approach on their journey into solids! Baby-led weaning is quickly becoming a popular way to introduce babies to whole and finger foods - skip the spoon-feeding and head straight to self-feeding. BLW can be introduced as young as 6 months old, and can be a great way for your mini to develop crucial hand-eye coordination, motor skills, chewing skills, and of course, healthy and adventurous eating habits.

We're all about supporting parents and their babies on whichever path they take when it comes to introducing solids. We have lots of families that start with Babyblends and then transition quickly into Plates. We also have families that dive right into the big leagues with their little eaters!

Our Plates line contains several meals that are perfect for beginner or experienced BLWers:

              • Cheesy Black Bean Pupusas with Southwest Veggie Quinoa
              • Chicken Pot Stickers with Quinoa Veggie Stir Fry and Edamame
              • Mac and Three Cheese With Invisible Butternut Squash and Carrots
              • Turkey Kale Sliders With Veggie Millet Poppers and Carrots
              • Three Cheese Egg Bites with Sweet Potato Hash
              • Veggie Tenders with Broccoli

As with anything having to do with your mini, we recommend discussing BLW with your pediatrician to see if it's the right fit for your family. If your babe is ready to take a toothless bite out of mealtime, we're happy to help modify your menus or offer suggestions to get started! 🍽️

We know how frustrating it can be to see your baby refusing food. But be patient before you give up on the food - the average baby needs to taste a food up to 15 times before recognizing it and developing a taste for it.

It’s all part of palate training and perfectly normal. Pro tip? Try mixing a new flavor in with a familiar one to help ease your baby into trying new things! You can read more tips here.

Our Babyblends are OU Kosher certified, the world’s largest and most recognized kosher certification agency. Our blends are also Kosher Pareve (no dairy or meat). Our Plates are not currently kosher certified.

Plum Organics Puree Organic baby food: corn, cabbage, carrots and tomatoes; stage 2 - “Feast of vegetables.

              Delicious and interesting puree.”

              Hello everyone!

Today we will talk about baby puree, with a very unusual, but useful and diverse composition for our market.

Meet Organic baby food: corn, cabbage, carrots and tomatoes; stage 2 from Plum Organics.

Having tried one puree from Plum Organics, I wanted to try others, as the older child was delighted.

By the time of purchase, the youngest was growing up and already familiar with the main products, with the exception of meat and fish. Therefore, I chose this puree just for him, vegetable, healthy and natural. And I also wanted to surprise with something that we do not have.

In this puree, I liked the combination of composition. I wouldn't have thought to mix it myself.

              So.

              Key features.

              Brand - Plum Organics.

              Puree type.

              Type of puree - vegetable.

              Energy value - 50 kcal.

              Volume - 99 grams.

Packing - pouch. Does not contain bisphenol-A.

Shelf life - 2 years. It is recommended to keep an open jar in the refrigerator for 24 hours.

              Made in California, USA.

Recommended age - from 6 months.

              Weaning stage - second (multi-component).

              Description:

An excellent mix of healthy and tasty vegetables that deserves special attention. Wholesome and delicious, this healthy blend will help you instill in your child a love of vegetables from childhood and for the rest of their lives.

              Great food

Feed your little one a nutritious mix of wholesome vegetables, oats and kinone - the perfect choice for discovering new tastes.

              • Nutrition - 190% DV Vitamin A, 8% DV Protein and older
              • Receptors - train your little taste buds from the very first bite
              • Benefits - no added sugar, certified organic, no GM ingredients

              Ingredients:

Water, organic corn puree, organic kale puree, organic carrot, organic tomato paste, organic whole oatmeal, organic quinoa flakes, organic extra virgin olive oil.

              Packaging.

Once again about the packaging, as is a very important point for me.

Since this is not a glass jar, but a plastic bag, you need to carefully look at its contents. It is important that he does not contain bisphenol-A (Non-BRA or BRA free). I have written more than once about its harm. And I will write again for those who read my reviews for the first time:

BPA (short for bisphenol A) is one of the components in the production of polycarbonate plastic and epoxy resins. At 19In the 1930s, long before it was used in food plastics, it was discovered that BPA could mimic estrogen in the human body. This means that if ingested, it can disrupt the functioning of the endocrine glands.

This hormone has been linked to cancer, diabetes, thyroid disease, overweight and cardiac arrhythmias, and reproductive disorders, to name but a few of a much larger list. Its particular danger lies in the fact that BPA is very quickly absorbed by the body and causes the greatest harm to the intrauterine development of the child, which can lead to serious consequences in the future, for example, it can threaten girls with the development of breast cancer.

And this puree is packaged in BPA-free packaging. That's a huge, fat plus!

              Appearance and texture. Taste.

              In short, interesting.

The puree is a dark mustard color, but if you put it in the sun, you will clearly notice the reddish color.

The aroma is very tasty, vegetable. The smell of tomato and barely perceptible corn stand out.

The texture is uniform but not smooth. Puree as if everything consists of clots. But this is deceptive, since the consistency melts in your mouth, I tried it myself.

Bright taste. A tomato is noticeable, but the puree is sweetish, like corn, as if you are eating mashed corn with tomato flavor. The rest of the vegetables and grains are not noticeable, but in general, I think they make the taste balanced and rich.

              Complementary feeding process.

As such, it was not, for the reason indicated at the beginning. So we started with a full portion.

The child was happy. Ate with gusto. Still, by this time, probably tired of my homemade "boring" mashed soups. )) And we ate it at lunchtime and only in a warm, heated form.

              Result.

Despite the diversity in composition, this did not affect the child in any way, in a negative sense. There were no allergies, problems with the stool or tummy.

The composition of the puree itself is not only interesting, but also very rich. A lot of vitamin A, which, among other things, is responsible for the growth of the child.

Therefore, I believe in the benefits of this product.

It is a pity, of course, that the price is not small and you cannot afford such a product every day.

              However, I trust this manufacturer.

Not often, but I bought this puree for my baby.
