Baby food recipes 9 months to freeze

Freezer-Friendly Finger Food Recipes for Babies (9-12 months)

Inside: These finger food recipes are perfect for babies 9-12 months. Each recipe can be made in advance and is freezer-friendly

Hey mama, you’re absolutely going to LOVE the roundup I have for you today.

Each of these

finger food recipes are:
  • Easy to make
  • Nutritious
  • Make-ahead
  • Freezer-friendly
  • Baby and toddler-friendly

And, most of the recipes only require 4 simple ingredients.

Yes, you read that right. 4 ingredients.

Feeding a 9-12 Month Old Baby

By 9 months, most babies should be comfortable with eating a good variety of foods – and you may even find that your own anxiety about their eating has lessened (and if not, that’s totally normal as well).

At this point, your baby is likely better at manipulating foods with their fingers, which is why by 9 months old, most babies are ready for “finger foods”.

I say ‘most’ because all babies are different. Generally, your pediatrician will advise you on the best timeline for solids with your baby depending on their individual development and needs.

Read: 9 Month Old Feeding Schedule & Meal Ideas

Now, whether you started solids by using the baby-led weaning method or with traditional purees, by 9 months old, most babies will have moved on to using their pincer grasp (thumb & forefinger) – think: picking up a puff or a blueberry – which is a great time to try finger foods.

If you started with baby-led weaning (stick shape or handheld foods), now is a good time to transition to foods your baby can practice their pincer grasp with.

What should babies eat at 9-12 months?

Just as with any age, babies benefit from eating a wide variety of foods.

Remember that certain foods such as honey, cow’s milk, deli meat, and undercooked foods are not allowed and can be dangerous if consumed.

Some of my girls’ favorite foods between 9-12 months have been:

  • Whole milk yogurt
  • Raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries
  • Scrambled eggs
  • Roasted broccoli
  • Fish sticks
  • Hummus
  • Shredded cheese

These ideas also help answer that all-important question of “what finger foods can you give a baby?” – raspberries, broccoli trees, and scrambled eggs are good examples of finger foods that will help your baby practice their pincer grasp (as seen above).

Freezer-Friendly Finger Food Recipes for Babies 9-12 Months

My favorite part about each of these recipes is that they’re simple, make-ahead friendly, and not only great for babies, but toddlers (and moms!) as well.

If you’ve ever wondered if you can freeze baby finger foods, the answer is YES and it will make your life so much easier.

3 Ingredient Spinach & Banana Yogurt Melts

This is one of my OG blog recipes that has been shared all over the internet, which makes me very happy, because it’s SO easy to make and babies absolutely love them.

All you need is a blender + some spinach, banana, and yogurt!

Coconut Mango Yogurt Melts

A fun twist on my spinach & banana yogurt melts – these are just as easy to make in a blender – plus they taste amazing

4 Ingredient Easy Cheesy Broccoli Bites

These are so addictive that when I make them, I end up eating most of them myself. The blog post has full instructions for how to freeze them, and you can easily reheat in the microwave, toaster, or air fryer.

My girls also loved these broccoli bites when they were toddlers as well.

4 Ingredient Mini Waffle Maker Omelets

Omelets in a waffle maker? Yes! Have you ever tried this? It’s unbelievably easy, they cook super fast, and you can meal prep a bunch at a time and load up the freezer with easy breakfasts for baby.

Mini Banana Oat Muffins

Soft and spongy, these mini oatmeal muffins are perfect for babies! You can cut them in half or serve whole and allow them to eat from their little fists. Serve with yogurt and fruit for an easy breakfast. This recipe makes a ton for the freezer.

The Ultimate List of Baby Led Weaning Freezer Recipes

Having a freezer full of nutritious baby led weaning food, will totally save your sanity! It is by far the single best thing I ever did when I started weaning my kids. Plus, the food is great for the rest of the family as well. So one meal for everyone! Stocking up the freezer is also a great way to use up fresh ingredients and have yummy food for the days you might need it the very most. We cook a lot of double dinners like pasta sauce for example, then eat one fresh and freeze the other one. You will also be really surprised how quickly the freezer fills up when you do this.

My Favourite Baby Led Weaning Recipes

Some of my favourite finger food recipe just so happen to be freezer-friendly recipe for babies too! The entire list below are perfect to start baby led weaning and lot’s are ones that I gave Oscar from when he was just 6 months old. They are also a great one to build up a stash if you are starting weaning in a month or so as your baby is probably not quite mobile yet. Believe me, when they start moving you will get less and less done every day. It’s just the norm when it comes to being a parent.

Quiche freezes beautifully! Cool completely and place in a freezer bag or container. Reheat in microwave for about 20-30 seconds from frozen or thaw in the refrigerator and serve cold.

Colcannon Nuggets

These nuggets are best when frozen before cooking. You can form the nuggets on a cookie sheet. Then freeze the nuggets on the cookies sheet until firm. Once the nuggets are firm you can transfer to a freezer bag or container. Reheat as directed in the recipe, however, add a few additional minutes to the cooking time.

Pea & Spinach Pancakes

As you’ll notice below, pancakes are one of my favourite freezer foods for baby led weaning! They freeze brilliantly! Cool pancakes completely on a wire rack, then stack the pancakes with a small bit of parchment paper between each (this keeps them from sticking together in the freezer). Place the pancakes into an airtight freezer bag and freeze for up to 3 months! Reheat in the toaster (sometimes pop them 2times) or in the microwave for 10-15 seconds.

Vegetable Pancakes

Cool pancakes completely on a wire rack, then stack the pancakes with a small bit of parchment paper between each (this keeps them from sticking together in the freezer). Vegan Curried Butternut Squash Soup

Smooth soups like this one freeze well. You’ll want to cool the soup completely in the refrigerator (about 2 hours) before freezing to avoid freezer burn. Remove the lid of your cooled container and wipe off the bit of moisture that has collected on the back of the lid. Reseal the container for freezing or pour into a freezer bag or large ice cube trays (for baby portions). Freeze for up to 2 months. Since soup is full of moisture, it tends to get ice crystals (freezer burn) sooner than other foods.

Baby Led Weaning Meatless Meatballs with Garlic Bread

Meatballs (meatless or meat) freeze SUPER! Make as directed but do not cook! Freeze meatless balls on a parchment-lined cookies sheet until very firm, then transfer to a freezer bag. Freeze for up to 3 months. Cook as directed by the recipe. You may need to add a few additional minutes from frozen.

Make-ahead Veggie Loaded Spaghetti Bolognese

Bolognese sauce is a freezer classic! Make ahead, cool completely in the fridge (2 hours), then transfer into single portions in freezer bags or containers and freeze up to 2 months.

Veggie Loaded Cottage Pie (with 10 Veggies) – A recipe for Fussy Kids

I like to make cottage pies in small pans (disposable or otherwise), this way I can make one recipe into several individual freezer servings. Often, I double the recipe so I can have one pie tonight and freeze 2 smaller (2 serving sized) pies for another day. Like most of the recipe above, you’ll want to cool completely in the fridge before freezing. Wipe off any condensation on the lid/tin, or plastic wrap. Seal the cottage pie tightly with plastic wrap or if it fits into a freezer bag put it in there. Freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw and cook as directed or cook for about 30 additional minutes from frozen.

Roasted Red Pepper, Spinach and Goats Cheese Quiche

A personal favourite! These are SOOOOO amazing and they freeze really well! You’ll want to cook them before freezing and cool completely before transferring to a freezer container or bag. Freeze for up to 3 months. To heat, just pop in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds. Yum!

Mini Baby-Friendly Quiches – Baby Led Weaning Finger Food

Here’s another quiche for you! Bake as directed, cool completely and place in a freezer bag or container. Reheat in microwave for about 20-30 seconds from frozen or thaw in the refrigerator and serve cold.

Chicken and Veggie Pot Pie

Here is another AMAZING make-ahead double dinner! I like to make enough chicken pie for 2 dinners. Here is what you do. Double the recipe. Make the filling and pie crusts. Bake one straight away for tonight. For the second pie, cool the filling completely then place the chilled pie crust over top (you’ll want to keep it in the refrigerator to keep it firm). Cover tightly with plstic wrap and freeze the un-baked assembled chicken pie for up to 2 months. Bake as directed from frozen for an additional 20-30 minutes. Watch the pie closely, once the crust turns golden it’s likely done. Cover the edges with tin to keep them from burning if you need to.

Moroccan Turkey Meatballs

As with the meatless meatballs above, these freez really well. Although, with these, I may suggest you pre-cook them completely first since your dealing with raw meat. It makes things easier later down the line because all you’ll need to do is reheat them. After cooking, cool completely and store and freeze in a freezer bag for up to 3 months. Heat up in the microwave or in a pot of spaghetti sauce on the stove until heated through.

Beetroot Kale & Goat Cheese Tart

Like quiche, tarts freeze really well! You’ll want to pre-cook and then freeze these savoury tarts. They can be reheated in the microwave for 20-50 seconds (depending on the size tart you choose to make).

Sweet Freezer Foods

Mini Muffin Baby Brownies Bites with Green Frosting

You can freeze these brownie bites with the frosting on top! Place in an airtight container and freeze just like so! They thaw quickly (about 15-25 minutes on the counter). That’s it, thaw and enjoy! Freeze for up to 2 months (but they’ll be best within 1 month).

Raspberry Buckwheat Pancakes

As you may have noticed, I loke pancakes for baby-led weaning. Cool pancakes completely on a wire rack, then stack the pancakes with a small bit of parchment paper between each (this keeps them from sticking together in the freezer). Place the pancakes into an airtight freezer bag and freeze for up to 2 months (since they have fruit I don’t freeze as long as other pancakes)! Reheat in the toaster (sometimes pop them 2times) or in the microwave for 10-15 seconds.

Passion Fruit Mini Cheesecakes for Baby Led Weaning

Cheesecake is synonymous with the freezer storage and this healthy version is no different! Make it, freeze it, it’s that simple. Seriously. Keeps for about 2-3 months depending on how much fruit you place on top. They will keep the longest if you freeze without the fruit toppings.

Baby led weaning Egg-Free Pancakes with Pineapple Coulis

How repetitive are the pancake notes getting? Cool pancakes completely on a wire rack, then stack the pancakes with a small bit of parchment paper between each (this keeps them from sticking together in the freezer). Place the pancakes into an airtight freezer bag and freeze for up to 3 months! Reheat in the toaster (sometimes pop them 2 times) or in the microwave for 10-15 seconds. The pineapple coulis can be frozen separately in a small container or in and ice cube tray until frozen, then transferred to a freezer bag.

Egg-Free Mango and Coconut Vegan Muffins

Like pancakes, muffins freeze super too! Cool completely and place in a freezer bag. Freeze for up to 3 months. I tend to take a few out the night before so they are naturally thawed in the morning. If I forget, I just pop them in the microwave for 10 seconds or so (for mini muffins).

Red Velvet Pancakes with Banana Nice Cream

So this one is like a breakfast treat. It’s all refined sugar-free though. The pancakes go wonderfully on their own, but I do like to add some banana “nice cream” on top to make them like dessert for breakfast. Don’t worry, nice cream is literally just bananas…frozen…and blended and kids LOVE it. You can freeze the pancakes as directed for all the other pancakes on this page. The nice cream is best if you make it fresh since it IS frozen bananas blended. If you do it ahead you’ll have a frozen solid lump of, well, bananas. It’s all about the texture, so just freeze some bananas and blend them to serve.

Sweet Potato & Orange Chocolate Truffles- Refined Sugar Free

These truffles are soooooo good. They are chilled to begin with, so you can freeze them right away. Just be cautious when you are thawing them to eat since the chocolate tends to sweat just a little. I like to take them out of the freezer bag and place on a little parchment in the fridge to thaw. This way they sweat a little less and don’t end up sticking to each other in the bag. Store in the fridge after thawing until you’re ready to eat them. I actually enjoy them frozen but you’ll want them to be soft for babies and toddlers… 🙂

Lemon & Maple Pancakes

Cool pancakes completely on a wire rack, then stack the pancakes with a small bit of parchment paper between each (this keeps them from sticking together in the freezer). Place the pancakes into an airtight freezer bag and freeze for up to 3 months! Reheat in the toaster (sometimes pop them 2 times) or in the microwave for 10-15 seconds.

Healthy Strawberry Tarts

Strawberry tarts are so popular with kids, I think it’s the strawberry on top? Anyway! They freeze nicely. You’ll want to assemble them on a cookie sheet and freeze the sheet until the yoghurt filling if fully frozen. Then transfer the tarts to a solid container (to avoid breaking the crust). I like to stack them 2-3 rows high with a tiny bit of parchment between (like my pancakes). Thaw in the refrigerator for about an hour or two before serving.

Wheat & Oat Pancakes with Banana Nice-Cream

As with other pancakes, you’ll want to cool and freeze these with a little parchment in-between.  Oats and wheat can get a bit dry/crumbly if you freeze for too long so I’d recommend freezing these pancakes for about 2 months.

Apple Cinnamon & Raisin Muffins- Refined Sugar-Free

These mini muffins make a great idea for baby breakfast and fast! Cool completely and place in a freezer bag. Freeze for up to 3 months. I tend to take a few out the night before so they are naturally thawed in the morning. If I forget, I just pop them in the microwave for 10 seconds or so (for mini muffins).

Quinoa & Banana Flourless Pancakes

These pancakes are extra moist and freeze nicely. Cool completely on a wire rack, then stack the pancakes with a small bit of parchment paper (especially important with these extra moist pancakes) between each, this keeps them from sticking together in the freezer. Place the pancakes into an airtight freezer bag and freeze for up to 3 months! Reheat in the toaster (sometimes pop them 2 times) or in the microwave for 10-15 seconds.

Sweet Potato Spiced Waffles with Crushed Pecans

I love to freeze waffles! I find that smaller, more shallow waffles freeze the best, but if you only have a deep Belgian waffle iron, they will freeze nicely too. Cool completely on a wire rack and stack in layers of 2-3 and place in a freezer bag. You won’t need parchment paper since the grooves help the waffles separate more easily when frozen. Reheat in the toaster with 1-2 pops!

Sweet Rhubarb Baby Led Weaning Muffins

My little Oscar loves rhubarb so we always make a few batches of these mini breakfast muffins for the freezer. Cool completely and place in a freezer bag. Freeze for up to 3 months. I tend to take a few out the night before so they are naturally thawed in the morning. If I forget, I just pop them in the microwave for 10 seconds or so (for mini muffins).

Baby Breakfast Cookies

Breakfast and cookies go together like… milk and cookies? Ok, milk and healthy baby breakfast cookies go together as a perfect baby breakfast idea! I do recommend baking these before freezing since the dough is not like your typical flour-based cookie dough. It’s more like baked oatmeal. Bake, cool on a rack and place in a freezer bag. You can add the jam once they are thawed, but if you prefer to add it straight away, you’ll need to freeze the cookies on a cookie sheet until the jam is frozen, then transfer to a freezer bag.

Baby puree at home: recipes

Baby puree from vegetables and fruits at home: cooking secrets

Vegetable and fruit puree often becomes the first meal of the baby after breast milk or formula, so many mothers prefer to cook it on their own. Although modern manufacturers convince us that baby food is devoid of preservatives and harmful additives, fresh vegetables and fruits are much healthier, especially when it comes to infant nutrition. Yes, and cooking baby puree at home is not so difficult.

Vegetables or fruits?

Let's try to make baby puree for our beloved baby. Despite the fact that pediatricians of the last century recommended starting complementary foods with fruits, it is better to first introduce the child to vegetables - modern doctors and nutritionists have come to this conclusion. Boiled vegetables do not irritate the gastrointestinal tract, are better absorbed, satisfy hunger, do not cause allergies and increased gas formation. In addition, vegetables do not contain fructose, which irritates the pancreas. And one more weighty argument in favor of the fact that it is better to start with vegetables - fruits are tastier, and if the baby tries them first, he will refuse vegetables, because they will seem to him more insipid.

How to prepare baby vegetable puree

What can baby puree be made from? The ideal puree for the first feeding is from cauliflower or zucchini. A little later, you can introduce pumpkin, broccoli, carrots, potatoes and green peas. Before cooking, vegetables are washed well, peeled, cut into pieces and cooked - steamed, in the oven or in the usual way, in water. The first two methods are preferable because oven roasting and steaming preserve the vitamins, minerals, nutrients, and natural color in the vegetables. And most importantly - such vegetables are much tastier. Some nutritionists recommend boiling vegetables with their skins on before peeling them, so choose your own cooking method.

If you do have to cook vegetables in a saucepan, use an enamel pot, add less water and put the vegetables in boiling water. Boil until soft, but do not overcook vegetables and fruits, otherwise they will become tasteless and lose a lot of vitamins. Ready vegetables are chopped with a blender until smooth and slightly diluted with water, vegetable broth, breast milk or mixture to a gruel state, since the child does not yet know how to digest thick food. Small pieces of vegetables in puree sometimes cause the baby to refuse to eat, so the knives in the blender should be well sharpened, and if there is no technique, you can grind the vegetables through a sieve. Salt and spices are usually not added to baby vegetable puree, and if the baby is more than 6 months old, you can put a little butter in the puree.

A few rules for making baby puree at home

  • Use only fresh vegetables and fruits.
  • Water for cooking vegetables must be filtered or bottled.
  • If you are using frozen foods, choose only whole fruits and vegetables as they retain the most nutrients.
  • All utensils for preparing baby food should be perfectly clean, so if the knife falls on the floor, it should be washed well. Also, the presence of pets in the kitchen during the cooking process is not allowed.
  • Avoid vegetables and fruits high in nitrates, such as spinach, lettuce, beets, melons, and watermelons, in infants' diets.
  • Store-bought vegetables are recommended to be soaked in water to remove nitrates: 1-2 hours for this, up to 24 hours for potatoes.
  • Mix sour-tasting fruits and berries with sweet fruits - for example, blackcurrant goes well with a banana or pear. Sour puree is unlikely to please the baby.
  • Give your child only fresh food, but yesterday's puree from the refrigerator is better to eat yourself.

DIY fruit puree for children

Children are more likely to eat fruit puree, because fruits are tastier and sweeter. Fruits contain a large amount of vitamins, minerals, trace elements, fiber and antioxidants, so they are very useful for a growing body. However, fruits are strong allergens, especially berries, bananas, pomegranates and apricots, so they should be given with caution, watching the child's reaction. The most low-allergenic fruits are apples and pears, so it is better to start complementary foods with them, and then introduce all other fruits. First, the baby is fed with a one-component puree made from only one product, and then you can mix different vegetables and fruits, and not only among themselves. Very tasty combinations of fruits and vegetables, such as apples and zucchini, pumpkins and pears.

Fruits must be of good quality, without damage, ripe and juicy, and the rules for preparing fruits do not differ from the rules for cooking vegetables. Naturally, fruit puree is not sweetened with honey and sugar - the later the child learns the taste of sugar, the stronger his health will be.

Aromatic pumpkin puree

Babies love to eat pumpkin because of its pleasant sweet taste, besides pumpkin is very healthy. It contains a whole storehouse of various vitamins, including vitamin T, which normalizes the metabolism in the body. For pumpkin puree, small pumpkins are suitable, since large fruits are not as tasty and difficult to peel.

Cut the pumpkin in half, and then into small slices, one or two of which (depending on the appetite of the crumbs) cut into cubes. Boil the pumpkin in a double boiler or in water for 20 minutes, while warm, beat with a blender to a smooth puree and dilute if necessary with water or a mixture. Add oil and salt depending on the age of the child.

Gentle Broccoli Puree

One of my favorite homemade baby puree recipes is broccoli. This cabbage is extremely useful because it contains potassium, iron, calcium and other valuable substances. It has much more vitamin C than lemon, and the reason for its nutritional value is its high protein content.

Separate the broccoli into florets, wash thoroughly and steam for 20 minutes. Cabbage cooks faster in water - fresh broccoli will take 7 minutes, and frozen - about 15 minutes. Broccoli puree does not need much water, it should lightly coat the vegetables. After the cabbage becomes soft, chop it in a blender or pass through a sieve. If you're mashing for kids older than a year old, be sure to add butter - the little ones will gobble up broccoli on both cheeks!

How to make baby pear puree at home

Pear is a very delicate, tasty and healthy fruit that rarely causes intolerance. In addition to the high vitamin value, the pear has other beneficial properties - it facilitates digestion and removes toxins from the body.

For baby food, choose green pears to reduce the risk of allergies, which are rare among babies. Peel the fruits from the peel and core with seeds, and then stew the pear in a bowl with a thick bottom in a small amount of water for 15 minutes. Let the pear cool slightly and puree it in a blender with a little of the remaining pear broth. For large kids, fruits can not be boiled, but add half a teaspoon of natural honey to the puree.

Zucchini and apple puree

Little gourmets will love this delicious puree, besides, zucchini is considered the most hypoallergenic vegetables, which, due to their high potassium content, have a beneficial effect on the heart. Apples contain iodine, iron and phosphorus, and due to the high concentration of vitamin C, apples help in the prevention of colds and viral infections.

Wash the zucchini and apples well, de-seed them, cut into pieces and cook in a saucepan for about 20 minutes, considering that the zucchini will cook 5 minutes faster. By the way, apples are steamed for 15 minutes, zucchini - 10 minutes. Next, vegetables and fruits are chopped in a blender, mixed and brought to a boil. For allergic children, this is the best side dish!

Exotic mango

Sometimes you can pamper your baby with exotic fruits - for example, make mango puree. This is a very delicate fruit with an original taste, containing 12 amino acids and improving sleep.

Choose only ripe fruits that are soft and reddish-yellow in color. Peel the mango from a thick skin and a large bone, put the pulp in a blender, add 2 tbsp. l. water and mash it, and then heat it in a saucepan for several minutes. For a baby up to a year old, it is better to give mashed potatoes with heat treatment to facilitate digestion, and older children can be fed raw mangoes.

Carrot and Potato Puree

Make normal potato puree without oil. Peel the carrots, grate them and stew them with butter and vegetable broth - about 1 tsp is required for 200 g of carrots. butter and 150 g of broth. When the carrot becomes very soft, wipe it through a sieve, and then put it on a plate, put mashed potatoes on the second half. Let the child choose whether to mix two types of puree for him or eat separately!

Pumpkin and apple puree

This sweet, sugar-free pumpkin-apple puree, cooked in a double boiler, is suitable for children who are already accustomed to “adult” food and are able to perceive a new unusual dish. It is better to take a pumpkin with a gray or green skin and with bright pulp - such fruits contain more vitamins and other useful substances. Apples are green because they have fewer allergens.

Cut pumpkin and apple flesh without peel or seeds into pieces, place in a steamer and cook for 20 minutes. Grind pumpkin, apples and raisins in a blender or by hand with a pusher if the child has already learned to chew. They say that this puree is very good for skin and hair, and you can check the truth of this statement yourself if you start feeding this dish to your baby.

In autumn, you can take care of preparing vegetables for baby purees. Some vegetables, such as pumpkin, carrots and apples, are stored fresh, and zucchini, broccoli, berries are frozen in small portions, because due to frequent freezing and thawing, vegetables lose vitamins and become tasteless. You can roll up fruit and vegetable puree in jars, but this snack should not be given to babies. Remember that the taste of vegetables determines whether the baby will love them in the future, so try to prepare an appetizing and tender puree - for health and good mood!

Menu for a 2 year old with recipes

Menu author: Natalia Dik — pediatrician. She graduated from the Chelyabinsk Medical Academy, clinical internship and residency, specialty pediatrics. She has been working in her specialty since 2007, from 2005-2008 she has been the head of the Allergy Department of the City Clinical Hospital No. 1 of Chelyabinsk, since 2008 she has been a specialist in clinical trials of drugs. She enjoys cooking and practices the Menu of the Week system in her daily life.

By the age of two, most babies are able to eat many foods and dishes on their own, there is no need to grind food in a blender or knead with a fork. Rejoicing at such changes, some parents want to give the baby to try more new dishes. Some, on the contrary, are afraid to introduce something new, and they are in no hurry to transfer it to the general table. There is some common sense in both approaches. Although the digestive system of a two-year-old baby is already much more mature compared to a one-year-old, nevertheless, it is not yet strong enough. Therefore transition to adult food should be gradual .

The sample menu for week below is suitable not only for feeding a child of two years, but also for the whole family.

Do not worry if one of the days the child has not eaten all the dishes you have prepared. Our ideas about how much a two-year-old baby should eat often differ from reality in the direction of overestimation. In addition, children may have their own characteristics and preferences. Everything new is best offered in small portions. Often, babies carefully try unfamiliar or otherwise prepared foods, but if they are offered the same dish next time, they can eat it with pleasure.

Make sure your child drinks enough liquids. The norm is 35 ml/kg of water per day ie with a weight of 12 kg your baby should drink 420 ml. It is desirable that it be clean water. If the child refuses it, you can try to give unsweetened compote, herbal tea, but not store-bought juices.

In the diet of two-year-old children, there should be no such things as fast food (in addition to hamburgers and french fries, these are various chips and store-bought crackers), smoked meats, semi-finished products (sausages, sausages), canned and pickled foods, mushrooms and seafood.

THURSDAY

Breakfast: Cottage cheese casserole with apples
Lunch: Soup with fish meatballs + Carrot and dried apricots

Pediatrician's comment:

Of course, it is best to prepare baby food from natural products. If, nevertheless, there is a need to purchase finished products (yogurts, curds, etc.) - , be sure to read the information on the composition of on the labels, since at present, even in products intended for baby food, you can often find various flavors, thickeners and preservatives.

Manufacturers use many tricks to confuse customers (for example, they write "No preservatives" even if the composition contains citric acid, a powerful preservative).

FRIDAY

Breakfast: Sweet pilaf with dried fruits and nuts
Lunch: Soup with fish meatballs + Salad “Vitamin”
SUPPLE: Yogurt Korzhik

Pediatrician's comment:

The diet of children at two years old remains 5 times a day: three main meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and two intermediate ones. If the break between the main meals is short, then in between it is enough to give an unsweetened fruit (apple, pear) or a vegetable salad (for example, apple + carrot). If the break is long, you can offer the baby a fermented milk product (yogurt, cottage cheese) with bread or cookies.

Some experts do not recommend introducing sugar and confectionery into the diet until the age of three , or even for life.
