Lunchbox is a convenient container in which you can take homemade food with you to school, work or on a trip. We tell you how to properly pack food to bring it safe and sound, how to choose a lunch box, and what to look for when buying them.

Lunch box with compartments

It is a plastic container with three compartments and a common lid. Convenient for taking several dishes with you, separating side dishes, meat and salad or sandwich, fruits and vegetables from each other. Container size - 15x24x5 cm, volume - 1150 ml. Suitable for all non-liquid dishes, food can be heated directly in it.

Advantages of : three compartments, transparent plastic, tight-fitting lid, reasonable price. Disadvantages of : a common lid for all three compartments, only one cannot be opened.

Silicone foldable lunchbox

Pretty roomy silicone box with plastic inserts and a lid. The clips securely fix the latter, preventing food from getting into the bag. An empty container can be folded, reducing the space occupied by several times. If you are thinking about which lunchbox to choose, and at the same time you most often take with you a one-component dish like pilaf or meat with a side dish, you should stop there. It can be used to heat lunch in the microwave, as silicone does not emit harmful substances when heated. Glass container with plastic lid

In it, you can bake a dish in portions in the oven, and then cover it with a lid and take it to work. It is also suitable for the microwave, so there will be no problems with heating. Yes, a glass container weighs more than a plastic container, but if there is a dining area at work, the visual benefits of eating from real dishes are undeniable and achievable without putting them on a plate. The lid is provided with clips, so that the container is quite tight. Volume - 520 ml

Pros : stylish, you can cook, store and heat food right in it
Cons : heavy compared to plastic

It is very light and strong enough to survive a long journey on public transport or long-term carry in a backpack. But it also has a number of limitations.
